I’m stuck in FFIV

I know I’m not far into the game (Characters are around level 25) but this guy is a bitch.

Not only does he give me grief with status effects but he slows my party down so much that I can’t manage to cast Thundaga in time before he wipes me with Tsunami.

WRPGs generally have: free form combat, almost complete character stat customization, open ended gameplay

I was only about the same level as you at that point, and I managed to barely win. Just keep Palom or Tellah constantly ready to cast Thunder spells. If you still can’t win, just level up some more.

Now I have the airship and can’t decide whether to go straight to Troia or have a look around first 😀

He did that with me… Then for a long time, I didn’t realise I had to use a Thunder spell to get rid of the water – somehow surviving all the time. I guess I was just lucky…

And Ngrplz, it might be a good idea to explore for a bit before going to Troia. You can pick up some useful things if you look hard enough. Just be careful poking around the southwest (Eblan Castle) – there’s some dangerous monsters, especially in the booby-trapped treasure chests.
