I’ve been on the hunt for stereotypical Russian music, either folk music, from movies, or games.Preferibly Fast paced, Instrumental, almost comical stuff. Obviously I have Tetris, but in particular I’m looking for that one tune , that cossacks usually dance to. the one that goes "Dun Dun Dah Dun Dun, Dun Dah Dun Dah Dun…HEY!" I believe part of it was used in "The Mumushka" from the Addams Family movie. can anyone help?

Don’t know if you have thought of this already, but Zangief from the Street Fighter series is Russian. Try his ending track on the Super Streeet Fighter II Original Soundtrack, which might be what you’re looking for.

Try searching the Grand Theft Auto IV soundtrack on Google or something. GTA:4 has heaps of Russian Music in it, everywhere.

Just a small update to what I said earlier: If you can find the game rip for the Street Fighter II Anniversary game, it has an arranged version of the same song with better sound quality.

Hm, I believe I have a track that is similar to what you are looking for.

"A La Bonne Heure" from the Survive Style 5+ soundtrack.

Starts off slow and then builds up faster with occasional HEY!s in the background. I don’t think it’s actually Russian music but it sounds like it to me and it sure is folksy.

IF you want actual folk songs of russian origin, try looking for "The Best of The Red Army Choir" album.

Here’s some youtube links to give you an idea…

Probably the most famous song next to Kalinka and Tetris’s "Korobelniki" is the "Song of the Volga Boatman". Most often heard song in cartoons meant to either poke at the Russians or hard slave workers/masters. Sung by Boris Christoff
