Kind pointless topic but I was talking with someone about this game and these things came up, I’ve always pronounced them like "Entity" because that description fits perfectly, since they’re random weird floating things, but he pronounced it "En-tight", and I realized that would also work too since this game uses the "-ite" suffix for a lot of things as well. I still say "Entity" though.

So, how do you guys say it? 🙂

Yeah, I went with "en-tight" for the reason you gave. I think they would have put another ‘e’ on there if it were the other way. To my ears they’re both are acceptable.

Probably because the first one I encountered was Salamand, and "Salamand Entity" sounds a lot cooler and rolls off the tongue better than "Salamand En-tight".

I wouldn’t say that applies with any of the others… If it was any of the others I met first, I might have called it the other one. Maybe.

I pronounced it somewhat like "En-teet", but I’m not native english speaker.

Entite is French for ‘entity’ and that’s all I know. I do not know the correct French pronunciation of ‘entite’. But personally I do say ‘en-tight’.

"En-tight" here. English being my native language I pronounce the word as if it were an English word. Even though the word exists in French, the structure of the word could easily fit into the English language and I think its use on FFXII is more as a completely made up word.

Think "Stalagtites" 🙂

En-tight for me – I just say it as it’s spelt.
