I just have a question for the FFVI game but I don’t if there is already thread like this if so post here. If magic had been a lost art since the time the game began then how is it then that the monsters in the game are able to use magic?

PRETTY SURE THEY MEAN LOST ART TO HUMANS

Not even lost to humans.

The narrator is unreliable, me thinks. Or he doesn’t know about Thamasa which is full of magic-using humans practising this supposedly lost art. And they’ve been subsisting since the ancient War of the Magi which spawned magic. Not 100% sure about the animals, but yeah, they probably didn’t even warrant mentioning in regards to the plot.

Oh well, I’ve never played more than 2 hours of VI total.

lol

I guess, since they are monsters/animals after all, their skills do not count as magic, but rather as built-in. I couldn’t explain it for human enemies, though.

And as for Thamasa, I think I remember that it was mentioned why they still are able to cast magic.

Everyone knows Thamasa is a nation of "teh 1337 hax0rz."

Yeah, thanks for reminding me. That’s what the game clearly states. :3

Here’s a question. Why does Locke wait til Edgar is around to SWOOON over Terra’s use of magic?

She clearly can use it before that time. You can make her use it….you know what I mean, d00ds!

He was staring at her figure the whole time before the event with Edgar?

I think the game explains monsters use a little magic, but regular humans lose all magic besides Terra of course.
Some humans like Celes have magic infused in them at birth. So my guess is that enemy humans were infused with magic.
