Hell Wyrm, Stage four. You are using the Turtleshell Choker so that you do not run out of MP too quickly, because you have 700,000+ Gil. Your gil runs down until you only have 55 and you only have four bars left to be finished with him. So, you decide to risk going to save, get more gil, and then come back. But on the way out, Hell Wyrm kills everyone in your party besides your party leader, your strongest chericter, which only suffers 5-10 damage due to the Wendingos and Strikers outside. So, you deicde to just go with him, without curing the rest of your party members. Then… you hit a trap that kills him.

This happened to me, yesterday, on my birthday, after two hours of fighting Hell Wyrm. How would you feel?

I’d probably take it as a sign to stop fighting bosses with millions of HP and put the game aside.

I’d feel like I should’ve not wasted my time with turtleshell choker, which, luckily, I haven’t.

I just used Ethers/Elixers, whatever.

I left a couple times. Didn’t do anything special besides Penelo + Masamune + Genji Gloves = PAIN~

It wasn’t a waste of time. It allowed me to beat Hell Wyrm at a very low stage. Because I went back the next day and beat him.

I also wouldn’t have backed out of a battle that took me an hour and a half because I ran out of gil and was depending on an item/accessory like you did, but to each his own.

Makes sense. Sorry for the rash response. What I did was after bringing Hell Wyrm down to half of his bars (As my Gil Reached 300,000), I went back and saved to a different file, then went to fight him when I ran out of gil and died. To rectify this situation, I just loaded the old save which was at stage three, and belted away, not going back to save until he died.

That helped, and I only had to use one Elixir and One Megalixir.
