AM I CRAZY!?!?!

Ok, lets start with a story….

About 6 years ago or so I was working 12 hour shifts at night and sleeping away most of my days. I didnt want to waste money on a video game system since i wasnt going to be playing all that much. Enter the wonderful world of roms. I started off with nes and snes the days of glory imo. Then out of curiosity I moved to GBA roms, started with the castlevania games and loved them and moved on from there.

Eventually (and here comes my thinking im crazy) I found a final fantasy game. It was Freakin sweet. Played alot like finaly fantasy tactics which i had loved, but revolved around something happening on an island and involving a mermaid type character and a spear that was going to help the bad guys win some war that had been raging forever. The coolest thing about the game was that you could earn badges for stuff you did in combat, and those badges would help you unlock other character classes. Like you had to have died and been resurrected (earning a badge i cant remember the name of) to unlock some super cool healing class later on (which sadly i cant remember the name of) I remember there being a badge for killing over a certain number of bad guys, and there being a badge for missing alot. It was hella awesome.

Then the other day im telling a final fantasy lover friend of mine about this game cause now that im older with a regular 9 to 5 job and such I wouldnt mind trying to actually buy an old copy of the game and get around to beating it. Come to find out he has never heard of it and it doesnt seem to exist anywhere on the internet. Please if anyone can prove im not crazy please please help me out.

You’re probably thinking of Tactics Ogre: The Knights of Lodis (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tactics_Ogre:_The_Knight_of_Lodis). It’s not a Final Fantasy game, although it is similar to FFT (both being based on the first Tactics Ogre game).

I own this game on my GBA and it is one hell of a game! I am glad you found the title you were looking for. They should bring the Tactics Ogre titles back from the grave.

I wish they would remake the games for PSX, those are hard to find, and from what I remember, in my days of renting games, they were brilliant.

I remember renting games… Took them home, loaded them up, and they wouldn’t play. At all. Too many scratches. I was angry.
