All I need is Suikoden 2, and I will own them all.
sup bff
Locke go vote for Trilo in PW Rumble you do I’ll make you a card or sth like a crazy character plz my homie u r awesome kthx
then you can request whatever
I’d say part II easily ranks as my favourite among them because I and II were connected in so many ways besides the ever present Flik and Viktor. The story was better too, and ended on a more personal note.

One of the best RPG series out there. You got Suikoden 1 for mad cheap! I’m jealous. I’m missing that one and Suikoden IV. I’ve played them all tho.
Suikoden 2 is probably the best one of them all.

yes very cheap, every time I see it on ebay its more than 150$ at least. Right place at the right time i guess, I also got Breath of Fire 3, and Wild Arms 1 that day haha.
I didn’t know it was such a coveted treasure! Hell, I feel like a pretty good collector about now. I’ve had most of what you’ve mentioned for years now.
Except Suikoden II, which I’m pretty sure my friend sold after I allowed him to borrow it.
Wow. you’re frickin kidding me. Lol
Breath of Fire 3 is one of my fav RPGs ever. I never played Wild Arms 1, but I know it must be expensive now. You’re a lucky bastard. Haha

Yeah. Gotta shop those hole in the wall non corporate video game stores once in a while. Thats where you find these games, idiots at the counter who have no idea what they have in there store.
Just a little FYI.
fyi
Just a little FYI.
I did not know. I like this news.
Look at the price for the strategy guide.
The only Suikoden I do not have is the Japanese Card Game version for GBA. Iam not a fan of card games on consoles.
Suikoden is a land mark game. It is a game that took some concepts from Shining Force and Mixed them with the Phantasy Star games on the Sega Genesis and made it wonderfully. I have never played an RPG like this before. When I got the 1st it was in 2000 or so, and I think I paid around $14-$20. I had already purchased the second game in the series. I picked up the first because of how well I thought of the second. Needless to say its been a good series of RPGs.
Suikoden V is the one in the bunch that is the worst. It sits in my Entertainment center collecting dust. The slow load time for battles are horrible. The character collecting was much harder then the 4 installments prior, which is not a problem. (anyone who ever did the trading, playing some of the characters mini-games, and going back through a huge dungeon to gain friends knows exactly what I mean.) The game just felt like it lacked that Suikoden feeling.
Oh well,
Good find, We have places out here called The Exchange. Its nice to find something you know is a classic.
God Bless
Of course, if you’re still out-dated and playing games from disc, I guess the load times could be a tad longer. But get with the times, mang.
III was a bit annoying…seemed more kiddy than I and II was. IV I never played because everyone told me it sucked, but I recently picked up V for $20 off Amazon and I’m liking it thus far. Definitely one of the better RPG series.
Edit: It was at this point in my life where I realized that virtual reality just didn’t exist yet.

Apparently so. I was actually disappointed in hearing that it was not to be released for a next-gen console, but any Suikoden is better than no Suikoden (Yes, even IV).
So far I have no idea how the game is going to look like graphically. I am thinking sprites? That would be awesome. It would be great if they did, as that would bring back the old Suikoden I and II style.
Konami is keeping this game under wraps, but it seems more will be unveiled at the Tokyo Game Show (Oct.9th – 12th).
I thought Suikoden 3 was really good.
Leave 3D to the PSP and 2D for the DS.
I’ll keep my fingers crossed for this title to not disappoint…even if it will probably have horrible sales no matter how good or bad it is.
All I need is Suikoden 2, and I will own them all.
well for me Suikoden II is the best from all the Suikoden series
i played and finished every game from the Suikoden series
from I to V including tactics
Suikoden II one of the best RPG games ever
I thought Suikoden 3 was really good.
yes Suikoden III is one the best RPG games
It still isn’t as good as 1,2 3, or 5, but it sure deserves a playthrough. It has nothing to do with the others in the series. So just think of this as a Suikoden side-project.
But it either got better as the game went on OR I just got used to it. Don’t mind it anymore.
The character sprites aren’t that great, but the environments are very well done. Music is pretty good too.
I can’t find Suikoden 2 for less than 200$. Thats the only one I need

Yeah the music is great. Its enjoyable, they do sound like there on speed lol, especially the main ‘hero’
The entire game was a cakewalk compared to beating Luca Blight. No one can deny that this man(WAS he ‘just’ a man?!?) is one of the all-time greatest villains in VG history. First, he practically oozed psychotic rage(who can forget the infamous "DIE PIG!!!" quote?). Second, he was the first villain in a while who just wanted to wreck crit up. Third, the battle. OMG, the battle! Barrage of arrows, followed by three fights against six people each, ANOTHER barrage of arrows, and a duel, followed by one of the freakiest speeches heard in a long time.
To be perfectly honest, I was almost disappointed by the rest of the game because it seemed almost…anticlimactic.
And yes, good luck getting Suikoden 2 for under $100. In all honesty, I can only suggest this: build an intelligence network at your local vid stores. If you build up enough of a friendship with those people, they can be a godsend in helping you find rare games…truth told, it’s how I got my copy of Suikoden 2 for 45 dollars almost 4 years ago, among other rare games.
I should really get back to them, too. Suikoden 3 is near the end of the main arc(I’ve finished everyone’s ‘separate’ stories, at least), and Suikoden 5…well, I’ve only just been chased out of my home, so I have QUITE a ways to go on that one.
in that case i should count myself lucky ive been looking on ebay for months every time suikoden 2 pops up at a cheap price i always miss it or dont have the money! last week it slipped from me again was on auction and nobody had bid on it could of bought for less then 10! well i still want to get suikoden 3 which i can now since i got a ntsc ps2(yes!) still making up my mind on suikoden 4 though whats that one like? also anyone got those suikoden vols that were on ps1?
Agreed, but its still worth one play through IMO.
yes the sailing took a LOOOOONG ass time. Thats the main thing that bogs it down, all the damn sailing you have to do, but the thing about it, after about 12 to 15 hours ‘Vicki’ joins you and you can teleport, make sure you have a map of some sort! I have the players guide so it wasnt so bad, it just takes forever, like I said its worth at least one playthough.
Tactics was way better
Such a shame that I live in Australia… I had to do the bad thing and download them all. ;_; I finished Tierkreis a couple of weeks back and it was well worth the play through. Its quite tightly packed for a DS game. Its bloody huge! 108 characters in a ds game felt quite absurd for me. Amazing how they fit all that in.
Any fans of suikoden should give tierkreis a try. It feels nothing like a spin-off and it really answers a few questions about the suikoden universe in general.
I was very surprised… I’m loving it ^^
As for another question related to Suikoden…which hero do you think got the biggest shaft in the series? As in, who suffered the most as they grew their army, claimed their True Rune, and brought ‘peace and justice over the land’? Let’s ignore any resurrection feats that took place if you got all 108 stars by a certain point, please.
I’d have to say it’s a tie between Riou(S2), and the Prince(S5). Things just couldn’t have gotten any worse for EITHER of them when the game really started.
I do agree Hugo suffered quite a bit, though.

Thats alright man, i will own it one day.
Suikoden, imo, was a awesome game. Short, but still awesome. The story was quite good, if over used in games/books/etc now, but still had a ‘freshness’ to it.
Suikoden II was godlike for one reason… The Iron Chef minigame ^^ I love that show (The original Asian version, not the American version). Gameplay was quite solid, and the graphics topped things off nicely.
Suikoden III never came to Australia… not happy about that.
Suikoden IV… I did not like this one. The random encounter rate seemed to of been set to hyper mode. Go two steps, Random Encounter. On your boat, sail for 2 seconds, random encounter. then another. then another… all in the span of 30 seconds or so (seemed like 30 seconds to me…).
Suikoden Tactics… was meh imo. Konami trying to rehash what they had with Vandal Hearts I and II, but with Suikoden. It was ok I guess… just average.
Suikoden V, I’m still playing. Seems to of gone back to how Suikoden I and II style… but with better graphics and gameplay. Some battles though are frustrating to say the least.
Also, with Konami having the games in the following time line is nice… i guess..
Suikoden Tactics >> Suikoden IV >> Suikoden Tactics >> Suikoden V >> Suikoden I >> Suikoden II >> Suikoden III
I’ve seen info about the Suikoden on the DS. I admit, at this point in time I don’t like it. That may change when the game is released and I’ve had a chance to play it though.
You haven’t played anothers if IV is your fave lol.
You got Suikoden 2 countapart? how much did you drop?
Well yeah lol. I didn’t know walmart even carried it back in the day.
Breath of Fire 3 is one of my fav RPGs ever. I never played Wild Arms 1, but I know it must be expensive now. You’re a lucky bastard. Haha
Wild Arms, i’ve played it one the psp, it was fun but i have no idea why i suddenly stopped….i guess it deserves the big sreen eh
I only played the first Wild Arms, which was great imo. Wild Arms 2 I never got a hold of, and Wild Arms 3… well, less said of that the better.
Back to topic at hand… I just started Suikoden II again, and I’m once again annoyed. Those damn flying squirrels with the capes… I was told you can get about 4-5 of them joining you, is this true?
My favorite series so far. Still loving it after all those years. I can’t wait for some kind of announcement about a new one in the near future.
