Ok, so, I’m Radioactiverhino, aka RAR (ironically the same name as the filetype I’m oblivious about). Just joined the forums, and have been downloading some tunes. Could someone shed some light on what a RAR file is, why people use it instead of .zips, and how I can read them?

Many thanks,
RAR

I also have this problem…I really need to find a converter. However, unlike the guy above me, I know what they are and why their used….I just need a way to READ them or at the very least convert them to mp3

Just use winrar (http://www.rarlab.com/rar/wrar371.exe) to extract the mp3’s from the rar folder.

You should always check Filext.com when you come across file extensions you don’t know.

If you don’t even know common compressing files/programs, then you should stay off of download sites -_-

I once accidently Unrar’d an entire emulator and game or something onto my desktop. It was messy.
