I do need one question answered though, does the 3 year warranty start when you purchase the console or was that just established from when they said "Okay the warranty is increased to 3 years"? I don’t want to buy a system and have it RRROD on me and find out the I’m past the 3 year deadline. Please just answer the question, I’m not looking to hear about the new Falcon boards or the new 65nm chips reducing failure rates.

Dont do this, people need to stop supporting god damn microsoft. You can let one game go. Get a PS3 or Wii, online play is free.
While I see what you’re saying, I have to disagree. This isn’t about just one game, but I will say the game has nudged me off the fence I was on about getting a 360. I’d like to get a couple of other titles as well, but not strongly enough to warrant a system purchase. Now, since looking at the GeOW2 footage, I’ve decided.
I just need to know about that 3 year warranty deal.
Supposedly the new 65nm chipsets and stuff have a muuuuch lower failrate, though. Personally I’m going to try to hold out until after E3 to get my 360, just in case a new version/upgrade is announced or some shit.
GOW2 looks super good, though. I really enjoyed the first one, and playing the campaign was a blast – but my entire gameplay experience was coop with my best friend so who knows how it’d be solo.

If I remeber right nsb already has a PS3 so him getting a 360 is no biggie. If he was going to get a 360 instead of PS3 though i’d be giving the same argument as you 😛
On a side note: What ever happened to Alan Wake (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Alan_wake)? =/
haha, what, because the other companies are less evil than ms? lolol
yeah, mostly. Microsoft products are made to fuck up so you will pay more money to fix it.
I see your point though if its for more than one game, most of the time games to both systems though (xbox & PS3). with obviously the exception of Gears of War.
Sure, which is why they made a world-wide extended warranty that cost them 2 billion dollars.
The Xbox 360 has had a high failure rate – there is no denying that – but you’d be hard pressed to find someone who’s actually had to pay for repairs.
Noskill, the 3 year warranty starts after the existing 2 year warranty finishes. IE, if you bought your system tomorrow, it would be covered for RRODs for the next 5 years.
I dunno, but it’s a game I’m highly looking forward to. The wikipedia there says its release should be sometime this year, and IIRC microsoft hasn’t announced its plans for q3 or q4, so maybe that’s when A.Wake will hit us.
Thank you Raiden, this is exactly what I was looking for.
I plan on getting a 360 late summer – mid fall.
Yes, you are wrong and im correcting you.
Sony hasn’t been 100% complient, but they dont purposly design there software/hardware to screw up on purpose, so youll waster more money repairing it. thank you for your time "Mega Hippo"
Within this statement is also a request not to hear baseless "theories" about microsoft.
Question answered. Closing thread.
