It’s actually killing me slowly I reckon.
Any information, ANYTHING that ANYONE can give me at all would be really very appreciated.
Strategies, systems – I don’t care.
I just wanna kill the ^@$%#&*s.
Oh, and, I need a good place to level up.
Like some place at the end of the game where I can just keep levelling and levelling, because I’m at the end of the game on like level sixty and it’s annoying.
Much love. <3
And the best way to general leveling and AP building is the North Cave with the Magic Pots / Movers / Tonberries.
The best place to level up would be the left-upper path in the Northern Crater in the swamp. Just make sure you don’t go down the final part of the Northern Crater.
Also, in order to get the Underwater materia mentioned by Agent, go to the underwater mako reactor passageway in Junon and morph a Ghost Ship in order to get a Guide Book. Give it to an old guy in Kalm and he’ll give ya the Underwater materia.
Haha problem is getting to the 9999hp mode.
Imma go try the left upper path thingy now.
My problem is getting back up at the end of running around the crater.
I tried once.
Couldn’t find the right spot to cliiimmb. 🙁
I’m gonna assume you have Mime and KotR and Quadra Magic… get those with a Gold Chocobo if you don’t.
The only thing you’ll need to have leveled is a single HP Plus Materia or two.
For Emerald:
Have someone who is NOT your tank with this setup: W-Summon, KotR/HP Absorb, Quadra Magic/Bahamut ZERO. Or you could scrap BZ/QM.
As for the tank, just give him Mime and HP Plus.
Have the non-tank start by W-Summoning BZ and KotR. BZ will attack four times and KotR will heal each time after. Either that, or just Summon KotR twice, it’ll come regardless of whether leveled and heal you.
For the rest of the battle, have the tank Mime this combo. If the other party members die, DON’T revive them. It’ll mess up the Mime chain, plus, the tank will keep being healed by KotR. And, as the tank is the only one alive wearing only two materia, Aire Tam Storm will only go 2222. No big deal if your HP isn’t 9999 and you can’t do the 7777 thing, the thing usually uses Revenge stamp right before ATS anyway. Anyway it should heal you greatly each time you attack.
And as before don’t use Phoenix/FA, because it’ll mess up the Mime chain so what’s the point. That and you won’t be able to repeat it if KotR isn’t leveled.
And… Ruby:
First of all the tank should enter this battle alone with the other two dead so he can’t use the sandstorm thing and blow anyone away. This time have the tank with W-Summon, again one of them being KotR/HP Absorb and the other being Hades/Quadra Magic, and Mime. Have Revive/Final Attack I guess, but try to avoid being KOed anyway cause it’ll mess up the Mime. Summon Hades and THEN KotR. It’s always gonna counter summons like KotR with Ultima, but within four moves Hades could successfully Poison/Stop the tentacles and Stop Ruby Weapon itself so that won’t happen.
Keep Miming this, and he’ll be defeated. However, between each turn, you might want to wait a few seconds for him to become un-Stopped before summoning again, because it would always happen to me that I would do it, and then Mime again while he’s still paralyzed, and he got un-Stopped after Hades finished but before KotR struck, and killed me with Ultima.
Also, since you won’t have any Aire Tam to worry about materia limit, you could add a leveled Magic Plus so it’ll end the battle sooner. And an HP Plus as well if you want to try to survive Ultima. If you have a Mystile as your armor you have a good chance of enduring Ultima as well. But as I said before if you keep waiting for him to be unparalyzed between each turn, you won’t need to worry about Ultima at all guaranteed, it’ll just prolong the battle by a few seconds.
Yeahh I do.
Imma try your tactic latteeerr.
Thank you. 🙂
I’m pretty sure Ruby can be and is meant to be done without it, considering the reward for defeating it IS a gold chocobo, which would be pointless and stupid if you were supposed to already have one to begin with.
Emerald, on the other hand… I don’t know yet how to go about that one without the gold stuff… if there even is a way.

Just because the reward is a gold chocobo doesn’t mean you aren’t meant to train one and use the most powerful summon against it.
Well, Ruby is definitely meant to be done without KoTR, seeing as it always counters it with Ultima.
Ruby counters any spell with Ultima, so that was a moot point.
As for Emerald — generally one goes with Final Attack/Phoenix and the usual so-on, so-on — I think alternate strategies involve having little to no materia equipped, since the Aire Tam Storm is based on materia. Of course, there’s also the ol’ "All Lucky 7" trick…
I see Zak already mentioned Hades in association with Ruby. Well, however you do it, yeah, Hades is a go way to go with that WEAPON.
That or Dazers since it’s unaffected by Stop.
And this problem makes me swear.
..
$#$#@^%$*&^.
The bloody W-Summon is killing me to get because the freaking Gold Saucer battles are so effing annoying!
..
Any strategies for that?
Cloud – Mime + OmniSlash
X – Phoenix + Final Attack
X – Standby until needed
Ruby:
Start the battle, and have Cloud do NOTHING!
Have the other two people attack until they get WhirlSand’d away!
Cloud – W-Summon + KotR + Mime, Phoenix + Final Attack
Cloud – Mime + OmniSlash

Your Emerald strategy sucks, ftr.
Have Cloud with Final Attack linked with Phoenix summon materia. This will give you multiple lives (One for each star).
Secondly have Cloud cast Knights of the Round Materia and have another party member then cast Mime. This will ensure that you cast Knights of the round multiple times.
Trust me this works. As someone mentioned earlier, W-Summon Knights of the round 😉

If anyone expects to do that they better have Knights of the Round leveled because after Phoenix saves him it would mess up the mime sequence and they wouldn’t be able to summon KotR after that.
It’s what happens when you clock 99:59:59.
I did this one night with Setzer (who also posts here). We wanted so badly to literally clock this game. And we did. AND THERE WAS MUCH REJOICING.
Oh?
Well so far its the easiest and fastest strategy I’ve come up with!
Everyone I know who’s used it has beaten Emerald 1st try and without stressing, pulling hair out, or even dying once!
So I say to you sir,
EAD! (eat a dick)
As for Ruby, I cant really help you there, I only beat him a couple times and dont really remember how.

Um… you sure you aren’t getting the two mixed up? The strategy you give seems to be more compatible with Ruby than Emerald.
My strategy is for the Underwater Weapon. I remember trying it on the Desert Weapon and failing badly.
It also occurs to me that if Clu doesnt yet have W Summon Materia, he probably doesnt have Final Attack Materia either. So Clu, the first thing you should do is go win the 2 top Battle Arena Prizes (Omni Slash and W Summon), then do it again, the lady will ask if you want to do a Special Battle, win this battle to get Final Attack materia (I think you also need Knights of the Round to get the special battle), then after youve done that you can go face the Weapons.
I would hope that my icon would give that away.
And second of all, any strategy is worth a shot.
So thanks, I’ll try it.
I would hope that my icon would give that away.
Wait… That’s you in your avatar?
Now quoting Neg:
WHY YOU JUST CRITICIZING OUR TEXT, MANG?!?!?
ALWAYS NAY-SAYING!! YOU CREATE SOMETHING!!!
Just looked on youtube and that strategy is too damned time consuming. Duplicating Mimes and Counter-Commands that many times. Fuck that.
KOTR strategy is much easier >.>
Edit: To clarify, my initial problem with the strategy was they just said Omnislash then Mime. with a final attack+Phoenix for safe keeping. So immediately I thought, you can’t Onmislash then wait every turn to Mime, hence a shitty strat.
Counter + Mine
Master Final Attack + Master Revive
Hp Plus(es)
And bring a lot of Elixirs or X Potions.
Optional: Hero Drinks and the Ultima Weapon.
Start the battle by giving Cloud an Hero Drink and then unleash Omnislash. Then use Mime every turn until you take too much damage. You then use an Elixir or X Potion. Counter + Mime will make sure you’ll stay in shape until your limit gauge refills (what more, Mime makes it so the potions you mimic will not be taken out of your inventory!), then you start again with Omnislash.
You’ll take him down in less than 4 minutes.
Only drawback from this technique is that only Cloud will benefit from the XP. But you can still equip some Materias in spare slots to give them an AP boost.
Haha.
Melbourne is awesomesauce.
😀 😀
Apocalpyse – 3x materia growth
Fight Magic Pots – 1500AP each
So in 3 hours (which is nothing if you’re dedicated) you can have 4 sets of Mime + Counter (3 mastered, 1 normal) which means you use Omnislash on Emerald ONCE, and from then on no matter what he does, you counter with Omnislash at least 3 times! You then have your turn which, if you use Mime, you will use Omnislash equal to the amount of times you countered after Emerald’s attack!
And on the odd occaision he survives long enough to damage you seriously, use a Megalixir, and then every time he attacks, you heal! Then just wait for the limit gauge to max out, and repeat Omnislash Counter!
This strategy is almost flawless!
You can butt-rape just about ANY enemy before they have any serious chances to kill you or even damage you severely!
The only exclusion is Ruby Weapon coz of his abnormally high DEF.
I like that.
And I have more than three hours!
😀 😀
masterd about 6 counter attacks
maxed out clouds hp best weapon
now everytime it attacks cloud counters 6 times
or how ever much counters you have
and the hit points were 9999 each counter
delt with the emerald weapon quick
hit him wif yr sord :smrt:
I’d help you man, but I can’t remember how I killed them.
;_;

You can just use the same strategy for Ruby Weapon. If you have a character equipped with Counter-Mime cast Megalixir, that character will continue to use it everytime he’s attacked and it won’t deplete your stock. You can’t Mime a Mime, so if this character goes after Cloud, you can just leave the game running to sort itself out.

Omnislash on Ruby Weapon does about 200-400hp per hit, as opposed to 9999hp per hit with Emerald. MUCH faster to replace ‘Mime’ with ‘KoTR’.
I know mastering 3 KoTR is insane, but
a) you need to if u want 1 Master Summon per party member
b) you only need two to kick Ruby’s arse anyway
Just make sure you have Final Attack + Phoenix, because Ruby counters KoTR with Ultima.

Essentially the same idea as Summon Hades, only Stop can’t be used in conjunction with W-Summon.
I thought you’d know this Mr. Member-Since-2002.

Yeah, but who priorly counts/pays attention to post numbers anyway enough to check before doing that?
