This is thread was merely created for the convenience of the people of the forum and to give a central place for all Ds Music.

I did NOT rip or Upload any of the first games posted this was all done by
GoronMoron. So please thank him for helping to make this possible, and thank
Chernabogue54 for inspiring me to do this.

Im going to try to have this setup like the Wii Game Music thread So the same rules apply.
I need :
– the name of the game
– the number of tracks
– the composer (if you don’t know who composed the music, give the name of the company that produced the game. Example : Nintendo Music, SEGA Music, Konami Music,…)
– the link
– the person who ripped the game
If you don’t know any of that don’t worry about it just post what you know.
When you post something I will try to centralize everything by copying it all to the first post and second one which I will reserve.
From now on if you decided to be awesome and contribute to the thread I have began making Personal Folders for these people so when you post an OST or rip you will also have your own folder!

I think you need to download WinRar to program to be able to open the file you have downloaded. The program can be downloaded free at some adress (wich I don’t remember right now). I advise to search for it on Google.com…

and to add ablum art (im not to sure on this) you must make a library in itunes and then when the song is added right click on it go to get info click on the tab that says artwork hit browse find the artwork hit ok and then there you have it you can also copy and paste the art work multiple times to the same album

And AJ, keep in mind, of course, that this soundtrack is from a DS game, and as such has DS quality sound. It’s not bad, but it lacks the clarity that you would get if you bought the Freezpop album.

Not to mention, I like the GH version better than the actual one. The GH Version has more guitar in it.
Maybe if I listen to the songs long enough I can play GH with no music.

It’s really, really easy.
1) Pick your game, put it into the DS (or if you only have a GBA, use that).
2) Look for software that supports recording of WavOut (Music and sounds coming out of your PC’s <or Mac’s> speakers). I use the Creative Media Suite, but that costs money. I’m sure a quick Google search will come up with something. Though the stuff you pay for usually has better quality and cleans a lot of the mess (feedback, white noise, etc.) that comes with recording audio on your computer.
3) Find an audio cord that plugs into regular headphone jacks. Both ends need to be male (meaning the part that sticks out so you can stick it into a female connection — a jack). These can be purchased at Wal-Mart for cheap.
4) Install the software on your computer, set the recording "device" to record in WavOut so it records whatever is coming out of your speakers. Open up the Volume Control on your computer to un-mute the microphone setting. This opens up the audio connection so that your computer can accept sounds coming in.
5) You want to stick one end of the cord into the headphone jack of your DS (or GBA) and the other into the microphone jack on your computer.
6) Hit "Record" FIRST, then play the music on your DS. Whether a game has a sound test or not is dependent on the game. Otherwise you’ll have to record straight from inside the level of a given game.
7) This is optional, but I highly suggest it. Download mpTrim (http://www.mptrim.com/mpTrimFAQ.html) to clean up the track and edit it so that it starts and ends cleanly.

OK I can see how this could work for some games, but I believe that most game music is ripped from the game data. Sort of how they do it for NES music. New Super Mario Bros. dosent have a sound test but the audio rip I downloaded from here has no background sounds.

I only was answering the question about the YouTube video which had the instructions of which I entailed here. If there is a way to do it through the back door, feel free to post instructions here.
However, with New Super Mario Bros. I would just enter a level and not control Mario or anything while the music plays, whilst I would be recording with the aforementioned instructions. No sound effects would be recorded because Mario wouldn’t be doing anything.

First, I’d like to thank everyone for their hard work at ripping those tracks. I downloaded several of them, and it’s great to be able to listen to those musics at any time with such a good quality.
Anyway…I recently finished Trauma Center 2 (or, more accurately, Trauma Center: Under the Knife 2), and I think that the music in this game is really good. Not the best ever of course, but really worth listening to, especially the track of the last operation. I couldn’t find the OST in this thread or anywhere else though, so the only option left was to rip it myself. So, well, I tried.
I’m completely new at this, so please excuse the mistakes I may have made while ripping the music : it may not be the best quality you ever heard (but I didn’t put a microphone next to the DS’ speaker of course), I might have looped some tracks at the wrong time, or something else I can’t think of now. But I tried my best, so if you too like the music of this game, feel free to grab it.
Of course, if anyone here with more experience could rip the tracks in a better way, don’t hesitate. I did that because I really wanted to listen to the music, and I uploaded it because I think some people might want it too, not to say "zOMG iz mine did it 1st you can’t do it now lulz".

The sound test contains 18 tracks, but the last one is just a medley of all the other musics, with nothing added in it, so I didn’t think it was important to rip it (except to make the archive bigger in size, maybe). All tracks loop once (or I think so, sometimes it’s hard to recognize where the "loop point" is), except for tracks that, well, don’t loop at all.
Once again, if you can, you’re more than welcome to rip that in a better quality : the game has a sound test, so it’s pretty easy. I can provide a save file with the game beaten if needed, because the sound test is unlocked only at the end.
That’s it, thanks for your attention, and if you have any remark about the rip, or a way I could make it better, don’t hesitate, that’s one way to learn.

I like all the Platinum-exclusive music especially the Battle Frontier and Giratina’s, so I’m going to second this.
They never released OSTs for Pokemon Yellow and Crystal, so I doubt that there will be an OST for Platinum as well.

I just pulled these from the options menu. I know that this pales in comparison to the track list from the real soundtrack, but until the soundtrack is uploaded, I could put this up.
Also how do you do the rips at one point I had a program that when I put a rom into it I was able to extract the music files which I did to get Izuna’s soundtrack but I lost it and have never been able to find it again. Does anyone know what it was or where I can find it again? I would love to contribute rips of games I just need to figure out how. Thanks for any help.

Well, it’s…Vista 🙂 It’s got some weird things, and sometimes you have to jump through a ton of hoops to get some software to work, but once it does it’s alright. It’s very easy to search for stuff, and the Aero look is neat.
I just wish I could solve my uploading problem, though; no luck yet…

I really dislike it when sequels recycle a lot of music from previous titles, but the new tracks in this game just about make up for that; they’re great. I’m currently playing through this title; I finally got past all the intro tutorials and tedious dialogue, so things are getting good 🙂
Same goes for the Custom Robo V series….. But the battle Tracks make up for it, so I’m not complaning.
Anyways, great job on this one.

That guy is a godsend for getting various OSTs (for which we’re all thankful, etc.), but sometimes I wish he’d slow down and make sure what he ripped was of acceptable quality and properly looped/labled first…
In that part 2, you will also find a folder containing all sound FX. I named all songs and they are numbered in order of appearance in the game (except for game over and all other optional titles).
This afternoon, I’m going to upload Square Enix Japanese RPG Soma Bringer’s Official OST (3 cds). I did a lot of research on japanese sites to find it and i want to share it here to all DS Fans. Let’s all hope that we can play this promising multiplayer action RPG game soon in US, Canada and Europe!

If anyone knows of a YouTube video or something else that has that song in good quality, I could rip that one instead; wouldn’t that be great? 🙂
