The Future of the Final Fantasy X Rumble

This thread is to discuss what’s going to be happening with it. Here’s the deal — The Master’s has been closed and is staying closed. That’s not up for grabs. Master, if you’re reading, sorry, but please don’t post about it here. If you still need to talk about it, PM either me or Ndi.

As far as I can see, we have three options…

1. Just don’t have the X Rumble for the time being…

Pros: There’s already over half a dozen Rumbles going throughout the Shrine currently and, perhaps it’s just me, but I’m wondering if maybe there’s starting to be a bit of general Rumble fatigue. Thoughts?

Cons: Completely ends the Rumble that was happening previously without any satisfactory resolution. No possibility of any Rumbling in the section for at least three months or so — because there’s no point in not having it, only to then just bring it back so quickly.

2. Finish the current battle and then end it for the time being

Pros: Would provide resolution on the current battle, and then allow us a break.

Cons: Same general as above, other than that we get to finish the unfinished business.

3. Finish the current battle and continue business as normal

Pros: Rumble continues as normal, hopefully — however, whoever agrees to run it must agree to update, as a general rule, no less than every three days

Cons: Making sure that there’s no more drama, possible continued fatigue from having so many rumbles.

Thoughts? Concerns? Voting on which choice we should go with?

Oh, and Allen has agreed to run it if we want to start it up again, and he has first dibs, since he messaged me first. zak6009 — you’re in consideration if for some bizarre reason Allen can’t do it, but I think we’re good there.

What about 4. Just start over from scratch? I mean, does it absolutely have to be finished?

Yeah, sure, that’s an option too, if we don’t care if the old one is finished it or not.

Im not to bothered either way. But I do think that the way the X rumble was updated was too slow. And the way Master reacted to the criticism was uncalled for. (sorry TM, but its true) But that’s beside the point anyway.

I’d be okay with it being started again. But I don’t know about ending it completely for the time being.

Thats my thoughts anyway.

I dont really care what we do but my personal opinion is to either finish the rumble/ business as usual or just trash it and start over.

Allen’s said he’d prefer to wait instead of starting another rumble at a different date. Cookie, sorry, I know you two apparently talked about it, but Zak6009 is next in line if he wants it.

I was talking to Allen. And he said he didn’t want to do it. And i just said if it was turned down by everybody else i would do it. Basically, if nobody else is willing to do it, I would be happy to.

I knew Zak6009’s name was already in there. It was in case he didn’t want to.

I’ll take it. Can I start now? Or should I wait?

I’d personally like to trash this and start over, preferably on a new topic. Quotes doesn’t really interest me, and I hope if a new one is started that we get the chance to nominate a topic from a list.

For the record Agent, I’m not fed up with all the rumbles at all – in fact, if we didn’t have them, I’d probably visit this place less as the FF section in general is going through a slow-ish period.

And Ceidwad, I do plan to start by putting down a list of categories for nomination, just like for X-2. I have some really weird ones in mind, but for all I know they could have been done before.

I’ll just say this though, which is probably obvious, but I’m not gonna do quotes this time, that’s all.

But to be honest, while searching for ideas, it appears as though in almost every rumble-able category for FFX (with the exception of a few), I’d almost be forced to let people make nominations for stuff since the systems are so weird and broad. But it’ll be fun.

I’m not fussed either way. But rumbles are a lot of fun.
