I am curious as to whether people like shojo or shonen better…
Or in other words emotional or action manga and animes…

Get me a strapping young shonen any day of the week, or a butch lesbian (same/same) imo. 😛

I like shonen better. I don’t really like romance.

Hmm I like it when they put a bit of both in. I like Shonen more though.

Shonen. I’m really not a fan of the artstyle shojo typically uses.

I mostly watch shounen, but there are a few shoujo titles I enjoy. These shoujo titles aren’t the "lovey-dovey relationship" type though, it’s titles like Magic Knight Rayearth & Fushigi Yugi; titles that are part shoujo, part shounen.

the genre doesnt matter me, its what it offers that counts.

As long as it’s good I really don’t care.
Though, I do like my romantic dramas/comedies, anime & manga seem to be the only places where they don’t suck…

For me if it has a story I like I’ll watch either

I like both but I tend to gravitate towards soujo simply because of the art style. I tend to like the "pretty" artwork more than the rough artwork of shounen series. Although no matter how pretty the art is, the most important part to me is the story. I’ll read a manga with any type of art style as long as I love the storyline.

Agree with Catastrophe, the genre is secondary to the story so I guess I’d say both.

I favour shounen since it’s got more genres than shoujo. I mean, I haven’t heard of a shoujo series that includes good action and adventure before. Shounen can pull of romances too.

Im a girl,and I prefer shonen.
But,if it has a little of all,its welcome.

Degrees for watching:
– depends on the drawing
– depends on the story
– depends on how close to reality (i.e., if it gets too godlike then i’m out aka One Piece/Naruto/Bleach… Dragonball was godlike but at least there was a reason for it to occur)

(usually if there is a cute girl, I’ll watch it to the end)

I prefer shonen, but sometimes I like shojo (a la Comic Party). Blame it on me growing up with Shonen Jump, haha 😉
