No I agree with Clawandfang, Cloud should have suffered realistic injuries otherwise there will be spate of Cloud fanboys running around shooting each other in the face without fully realising the consequences of their actions; and that would be terrible.

This has been discussed here to death. I think the fact that the film also contains a gentleman with a machine gun grafted to his arm opens the possibility for anything… even bulletproof shades.
