As the title states this is a topic to discuss some of our favorite underdog consoles. When I say underdog Console I simply mean a system that was either a commercial failure or just didn’t do too well during it’s generation. I just thought this would be something fun to talk about. So just state what your favorite one was and why.

My favorite underdog console is the Sega Saturn because it had a lot of fun, interesting and memorable games like Nights, Burning Rangers, etc. and it’s 2D capabilities were pretty much unmatched for the time leading to the creation of some of the best ports of Capcom and other companies 2D fighters of the time. Also it’s controller was one of the most comfortable and best 2D gamepads I have ever used.

Yeah, Dreamcast was a pretty awesome system too, I unfortunately was never able to get one. Though I fully intend to get on after I am done getting some things I still want for my Saturn.

Well, I was going to say DreamCast but everyone else already said it. The only other console I can think of would be the Neo Geo, and DiscoDan just said it.

Oh yea, there is the Game Boy Micro. That thing is very cool, but many people have never heard of it. I have never seen a commericals or ad’s or anything. oh well.
Both the DreamCast and the Micro are powerful system.

The micro is just a small GBA… nothing "powerful" about it. The reason it died down was because the DS was right around the corner, so Nintendo kinda pulled a Sega with that one.

The Dreamcast is quite possibly the system I own that got the most love.

Adding my voice to the Dreamcast. There were some really cool games on it, but it ultimately just came out a year or so too early for its generation.

The dreamcast was excellent. Power stone and jet set radio ahh I fell in love with that thing.

I loved the gamecube too, pikmin was a game that touched my heart lol

Neo Geo.

It had some of the most amazing 2D fighting games I’ve ever played. Mostly King of Fighter series come to mind. Draw back was, this system was ridiculously expensive, and so were the games (think that the average game would switch users for about 500-750 dollars).
