There is like an urn next to the room after you kill pheonix. Can you freaking kill that thing?!? Thanks.

What, you’ve never encountered any Magic(k) Pots in Final Fantasy games before? You need to toss that thing an Elixir, otherwise it’s going to whip your ass. If you want the Elixir back, you’ll have to steal it, and it takes a while.

Well, they DO always function differently.

Anyway yeah, not to mention as soon as you see a magic urn TURN OFF THE GAMBITS ASAP!! Or press R2 first to cancel everyone’s ATB before they go crazy.

Not necessarily, Zak. There are some odd ones out, but I believe both VI and VIIs’ also demand Elixirs.

If you use Telekinesis on it, you don’t have to throw an elixir at it.

VI’s don’t. They just heal you and use random recovery items on you and then go poof, they’re basically a lucky card for the magic tower.

And lets see the rest, out of what I’ve played…

VII’s just demand an Elixir and disappear but don’t go postal on you if you hit it. And you can’t get it back.

X you have just be lucky and strike the right place which is randomly determined (probably the worst pot).

And then there’s XII’s which have their own above described pattern.

I don’t remember them in VIII or IX or X-2, but they probably had a system unlike either of the ones described above if they did.

Well the only one I’ve really played is FFX and that pot was just random attacking for prizes. But thanks!

Actually, Zak, offhand, I believe the reason you don’t recall them in either VIII or X-2 is because I don’t think they were present in those. I think they were present in IX, but were hard to find.

Hawkeye — that’s a clever trick. I had no idea! Thanks!

Well speaking of Telekinesis, where can you buy this Technick? Or all of the other magicks? I’m at the end of the game and characters are at about level 75.

From the "secret merchant" in the Necrohol of Nabudis for Telekinesis, general merchants throughout the game for a lot of the rest of them. Merchants you generally wouldn’t expect it to be, such as the guys in the Ester and Westersands, and the merchant in the Barheim Passage.

That’s awesome, I would have never guessed. All physical and magical attacks cause it to go mental, but Telekinesis doesn’t? Strange..

I think its one of the games programs flaws. Lke the kill chain+poison+sleep glitch you can use. PM me if you want to know what it is.
