Star Ocean 2 for the PSP

I heard on Wikipedia [ Cause it’s SO RELIABLE </sacasm> ] that there is rumour of a Star Ocean 2 remake for the PSP.

Star Ocean 2 is LOVE. And I’d really like to know if there’s any other information you guys might possess concerning this rumour. If it is true, I’d considering having my PSP fixed [ My grandpa stepped on it last month o_< ] just for that game.

It’s not a rumor. A remake of Star Ocean 1 for the PSP has already been released in Japan, with a Star Ocean 2 remake being released some time this year.

Not being a big fan of the series I haven’t really been paying much attention to them but I think you’ll find that most of the information that’s been released on the games is summed up on the wikipedia (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Star_Ocean:_The_First_Departure) pages (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Star_Ocean:_The_Second_Evolution) already.

It could be worse, I have Star Ocean for the Playstation but it refuses to play it even though there appears to be nothing wrong with the disc. I think it is just taunting me!

I kinda wanted a psp for Star Ocean 1 & 2releases, and also VP: Lenneth, but it looks like they kind of fagged up both SO 1 & 2. 1 I can understand somewhat, but 2 isn’t even that outdated, and they completely revamped the character art, which isn’t that big of a deal I guess, but it’s still a bigger deal than in most games.

Its not just used for FMV’s, but a character portrait also comes up now when a character is speaking, ala Valkyrie Profile.

I dun like it 🙁 But if I had a PSP I’d buy both anyway probably. I love that game.

Less of a difference with Claude, but I guess I’m still a sucker/nostalgic for the old style.

I still don’t understand why Rena has short hair in her portrait despite her sprite having long hair.

I never beat SO2. Err if I remember correctly it was pretty long and a bit hard. That might be because eventually I just lost the patience to level up.

I think I got towards the end and quit ’cause I got my ass handed to me. I still have it for PSX but I guess I’ll consider buying the PSP version and give it another whirl.
