This ist not the terrible moviescore from Powell. Thats the music, written for the videogame. It’s made by Chris Tilton (Black, Alias).

I merged the smaller part together and did a 6 track album. Lenght: 35 minutes.
This music is much more better than the OST for the movie, so have fun …

Yes, yes, yes! Splendid stuff!

Really helps show off Tilton’s superior score.

Indeed excellent work!!!
Thank you very much for this – I adore Chris Tilton as he scores
in the same cinematic style as Jerry Goldsmith did in the 70s.
Like BLACK it sounds very 70s.
Christopher Lennertz and Gary Schyman also compose in a very
cinematic way.
Greetings.

Wait a minute… A very, very fine piece of work this undoubtedly is, but you just can’t compare any of these gentlemen to Jerry Goldsmith – particularly his 1970’s style! 😉

[Warning: The rest of this gets quite musicological – if you have no interest or understanding in musical terminology, or in over-analysis, please ignore me from here on…]

Tilton’s technique could be called Goldsmithian in that his action music employs interesting, off beat, uneven, choppy rhythmic structures, but that’s about the end of the similarity. Very little else in his orchestral technique, melodic style, or harmonic tendencies make me to think of Goldsmith.

His brass technique reminds me of Basil Poledouris – with a touch of Danny Elfman and Shirley Walker. Harmonically, I get shades of Don Davis, Shirley Walker, and Michael McCuistion. His orchestral pyrotechnics evoke John Williams to a certain extent. (The lovely woodwind frilly bits in the End Title particularly – beautiful ensemble handling. It doesn’t need to be there – he’s just showing off his orchestra. How many guys can do that today? Tilton is a real composer – a trained, classically-minded musician with obvious passion for integrity, quality, class, and professionalism – once given facets of the film scoring world, now sadly they are the exception rather than the rule…)

Really, an excellent album ! I can’t wait for Mercenaries 2. Chris Tilton’s recently updated his website. Here is the tracklist of what seems to be the promo score from the game :

01. Jumper Main Theme
02. Welcoming Committee
03. Paladins in the Colosseum
04. Nepal Monastery
05. Path To Roland
06. Courtyard Clash
07. Island Jumper
08. Network Breach
09. Jumper? I Hardly Know Her!
10. Tokyo Dockside
11. Slo-Mo Walk In The Rain
12. Final Confrontation
13. Peace Is A Temporary State
14. Griffin’s Story

But there’s no runtime. May there be some unreleased music in it ?
