Get at least 10 Espers and speak with Geomancer Yugelu in Jahara.

But I warn you, if you have a life or any hint of a life, I wouldn’t reccomend getting it. It’s 1/1000, and people on youtube say it took them 9 hours straight to get it.

But anyway, as for the story, I’d imagine the MINIMUM you’d have to be is having completed Giruvegan and right before flying to Ridorana, with Reddas in your party. Considering there are 13 Espers and one is in that part of the Henne Mines and two are in the Pharos and the others are available before then, that would have to be the earliest.

The chest itself has a 1/10 chance of appearing but a 1/100 chance of having the Zodiac Spear. Well, to break it down it has a 1/10 chance of having an item and a 1/10 chance of it being the Zodiac spear. So as you approach the area where the chest is you have a 1/1000 chance of receiving it.

If you end up getting the Brave Suit in the Great Crystal then you’ll also only have near-astronomical chances of getting the Zodiac Escutcheon, though only 1/200.
