Beclem’s shot

Hey, I’ve got a question. If in the first playthrough I saw Beclem’s shot and unlocked the aurochs, if I use the New Game Plus thing, do I have to do the gauntlet and see the shot to get them again? Because I heard the high score carries over and if it does I should be able to see the shot anyway, right? Or let’s say I don’t do the gauntlet in chapter 2 and I turn up in chapter 5, will I see it? I hope so, ‘cos I really hate that mini game.
