You’re Through — and That’s a Good Thing (The Official American Idol Thread)

‘Cause someone had to start one eventually. It’s the show love to hate, just love, or just hate.

Currently the program is in its seventh season. This week was Hollywood Week and tonight they revealed the Top 24. Seems like it may be a decent group, though I don’t have any solid favorites yet.

I was a bit dissapointed that Kyle (name?) [kid who sat next to Colton] was eliminated, he had a good voice. Although I thought Colton was good too, I hoped that both would have made it through but that’s wishful thinking *sigh*. BTW, my DVR cut off a few minutes before the end do you know whether Joanne or Cardin was picked?

Gin — I don’t recall the names — I’m pretty sure it’s whichever one was African-American was picked. I’m sure any of a number of sites could tell you, though.

Also, is American idol brodcast later in the uk? because i dont think its reached that stage yet??

I know that American Idol is seen either the same night or day after in Canada and also airs in Malaysia. Dunno what the U.K. airing schedule is like.

Meh..never mind.. we have the X factor, which may not be as big, but, at the end of the day we get more talent..BAM!!!

here’s a discussion what does everyone think of that "carly Hennessy/smithson" chick? do you think it’s fair that she got through on american idol even though in the past she was signed with a major record label but her cd (which they spent 2 mil to promote) completely flopped, does everyone think that it’s okay for her to be on american idol now considering she’s already had her chance??

The producers’ excuse is that there is no rule against it — the only rule is that you can’t be signed with someone currently. It was Vote for the Worst (hugely entertaining site – love it) who stirred the pot on it first. Television Without Pity is calling it the most boring controversy of the show ever. Personally, I don’t really care, and I think ultimately people will just judge her based on whether or not they feel she has true talent.
