I don’t usually name my characters anything special, if at all, but I thought Butz was a wierd name in FFV – renamed him Kazuma. I think I did the same in FFIX with Zidane. I also named Garnet "Daina" instead of "Dagger."

I quit renaming characters in RPG’s after I grew up. When I first started playing rpg’s I liked changing the names to whatever friends I had at the time. But after I get into more than FF, it becomes harder to remember stories and character names to begin with, so why change them? haha, thats my excuse anyway

Sometimes I’ll just make up names on the spot. I can’t recall what I named my characters before the Nintendo era. When I play Diablo 2, I makes names like, Shalarah, Xithus, Kaldon, Banazaar, just weird shit.

FFI –
Isis – White Mage
Sinead – Warrior
Lloyd – Thief
Hermes – Red Mage

I never named the characters for any other game, I usually just used the provided names.

However my sister, when she played FFVII, named Cloud "Donald T." short for Donald Trump and Tifa was named "Brunhilda." I’ll never understand, but I LAWLed nonetheless.
