Otherwise im clueless – extracting r*ms and what not
…although i think that would be streaming, sorry if i havent helped 🙂
Still, background sounds can’t be avoided in some games (there is no sound test so…), isn’t there a way to clear them after recording?
For example I’d like to record some songs from Mario Slam Basketball (which can be done only by playing a match), without the sounds of the ball and the characters…
Find sound_data.sdat in NDS_UNPACK\data\Sound\,
Unpack sdat file with ndssndext.exe
I tried and like the ndssndext solution, but the MID files sound quite different from the original music (same notes, but not the same instruments) : is there a way to fix that ? (I play the MID files with Winamp, should I use another program?)

then the game uses its own / another soundbank than you. You’d have to rip that aswell and use it with your midi. This sounds kinda complicated though, unless there is a programm out there which does it for you 😉
Maybe you can get rid of the garbage sounds by
a) going into Pause Mode
b) going into the menu and see if there is a music player (which was common years ago, but it seems that rarely any game still has this..)
c) disable soundchannels using an emulator. Maybe one of them has a function for this.
2) drag and drop
3) ???
4) profit
