Title: Wonder Project J 2: Josette of Colro Forest Original Soundtrack
Catalog Number: TOCT-9798
Publisher: TOSHIBA-EMI
Release Date: 2/26/1997
Composer: Akihiko Mori

A very underrated soundtrack for a rather obscure game, this is from the sequel to the SFC communication adventure Wonder Project J. For those of you who don’t know, the idea of this second game is that you must control an android girl and help her learn to become more human in order to protect the people of Blueland from the evil Siliconian Empire. Only recently has an English translation patch been released, so if you found the game daunting to play in Japanese, fear not.

Anyway, the music, as composed by the late Akihiko Mori, may not be one of the more technically impressive soundtracks for the N64 (it uses a somewhat limited sound palette and little to no stereo seperation effects), but where it ultimately succeeds is in capturing the emotions of the game. This is from the CD soundtrack as released in Japan. It contains four arranged tracks and 36 cuts from the game. This is only a part of the game’s soundtrack (a subsequent add-on featuring additional tracks will be posted in this thread soon), but this is beautiful music… all straight from the N64.

Yes, I DID get a chance to play that. It was awesome to see this game in English–finally. I had always been so confused about what the heck was going on in the lengthy second half, but the guys doing the translation did and EXCELLENT job!

Wow — any chance of anyone rehosting this? I’ve searched online and can’t find it anywhere. I’ve wanted to play this since I saw the spread in Gamefan in the ’90s, and looking forward to finding the soundtrack eventually.
