What a surprise- need help again!

Hey, guys! I’ve finally gotten the game to start and not just play the credits, but now it’s asking for Disc 1 – and when I put disc 1 in, it’s saying that I have the wrong disc? Anyone else had this problem?

Unfortunately I’ve only ever played this game on a Playstation console. So am probably not the best qualified person to give advice on this.

But is your computer system doing this kind of thing with any other games? If not then sounds likely to me that it’s a disk problem. In which case maybe it’s worth, if it’s a possible option for you, testing the disk out on another PC to see if the same thing happens to make sure. If you can, and it does, then would advise returning the disk and swapping it for another.

Did it ever occur to you that maybe you’d be better off just giving up on the game? There are far better things to play on your PC than a mediocre game that hasn’t aged well.

I saw this topic title, and I’m just grateful it’s not about… issues.

Anyways, the PC version is full of glitches. It could be one of many things. I’ve never had the problem of the disc not reading though…

What OS are you using?

edit: okay, I just read your other post. You should have moved this over there. Anyway, did you do something funny in your file folder? Try reinstalling the game and install the XP patch (it’s out there somewhere) and try that. If you’re using a laptop, you’ll need a new keyboard config from the default one.

The PC version is complete and utter poo. You’re better off not even trying, even if you sort this problem out it is certainly going to crash later in the game. Try to hunt down the PS version if you really want to play this game.

Because some people might actually like the game, and want to play it. Don’t make the mistake of labeling everyone who likes this game "Insane" or a "Fanboy" It’s when someone is being a fanboy when they deserve any FFVII degrading comments.

P.S and are you only saying that because you "think" that most of the people here hate FFVII?

And I don’t think insane people are the only ones curious to try something that the whole gaming world knows about. Perhaps Kuro just wants to try it out himself? Have you even played the game before? Shame on you for gaming/mental stability discrimination!

Disc 1 was the install disc, and for the 2nd disc was actually the first.
But I had a pirated edition.

I never said anything about everybody hating it. I’m also not saying that this game is the biggest piece of shit I’ve ever played. It doesn’t come close to how shitty the Reservoir Dogs video game is. As for respect level, its about the same as all the other games I own that I considered decent but not excellent. I don’t hate the game with a flaming passion. Just certain things about the game irritate me such as the plot gaps, the somewhat poor script writing/ translations, and the people who completely obsess over it and get offended when people say Cloud has a small dick and Tifa’s a whore and when they just bad mouth any part of the game. And as for Kuro trying it out for himself, I could care less whether he plays it but I’m just saying there are games out there that are as good and even better than Final Fantasy VII worth playing(not to mention not as obsessed over). And yes KaMoDiAn, I have played the game. Why else would I be posting in this sub-forum?

And what the fuck does Advent Children(if thats what you are refering to) have to do with a glitch on one the person’s discs? I know my posts are a little off sometimes but this is just a plain "WTF is he talking about" post.

sorry wrong forum hawkeye i was in a debate forum guess i skiped over one or something…. my bad.but umm since im hear now i have installed final fantasy 7 on pc and it works great.i have had no problems with it other than the music that kinda sucks.but i downloaded a patch called the original music patch made by ficedula or something like that.but as for topic at hand i think that a main issue might be a bad registry intry possibly. i mean i wouldnt know considering i have ultima edition that i downloaded from bitcomet not to add much but im am using OS Xp and i didnt even have to install Vamps XP Patch but maybe thats just me

p.s i dont use proper grammer on a computer and i dont go to school anymore

if you really want to play it, then i would recommend playing it on the ps format, but thats my opinion..
