The Obnoxious Entites

Alright, I am trying to complete my bestiary; however, I cannot seem to get a few of the Entites to spawn– namely the Gnoma Entite.

– I killed the Earth Tyrant (Not knowing that sandstorms will dissipate by doing so).
– I have tried numerous times (entering and re-entering) the Westersand.
– I am throughly confused and frustrated.

Any help would be appreciated. Are there any tips or tricks that are needed to get the storm going, maybe something like Paramina Rift?

Does killing earth tyrant really get rid of the sandstorms? I didn’t think they would make it unable for you to permanently miss a monster for the bestiary seeing as how completing it counts for something important.

There must be another way somehow.

I have heard that killing the Earth Tyrant makes a sandstorm very rare. I don’t know if that is true, but while playing I seem to think it is. I never have a sandstorm while in the Westersand.

Killing the Earth Tyrant does make sandstorms extremely rare, but I’m not sure if they stop completely. Having said that, I tried for 5 hours to get one going after I killed the Earth Tyrant, to no avail…

Yesterday I finally got Genoma to spawn, got my Halcyon and the Ultima Sword.. Simply wait for the rains to start in Giza, go there and use the south entrance into the Westersand and zone in and out a few times and you will get your sandstorm.. I got it in two tries.. Now, Genoma is always there in the Shimmering Horizons, usually near the Zertian cave entrance, so steal from him (and hope you get lucky the first time, :-\ ), if not, after you kill it, go to the north entrance into the Midfault area, zip to the right to the Galtea Downs area and then reverse and go back into the Shimmering Horizons.. I did this about 5-6 times before I got my Halcyon.. All my characters are up to mid 80’s, so it wasn’t really too tough.. Hope that helps anyone who needs it.. Now I’m off to battle that freak Zodiark again for the 3rd time.. I really hate that guy..:-P

Yeah that does help. Thank you so much. I already have an Ultimate Sword and my characters are all 99. I just need it for my Bestiary. I just got the sword from the Subterra. After getting Tournesol I don’t like collecting items much. Heh.

How many do you have left to get?? I have just 4 rares left (well, 5 if you count Red Chocobo) to go to finish up all 80.. Phyllo, Gemhorn, Luxolid and Larva Eater, whom I’m saving for last.. I’m just not having any luck getting the first 3 to spawn for me at all.. I’ve followed all the directions to get them that I found on Gamefaqs and in the forum, but it’s just a matter of percentages, I guess.. I’ll keep trying but it is fustrating at times.. lol.. Well, gotta run and fight Zodiark again.. Good luck on getting every one..

Yeah, I approve of Berserk’s trick. I remember this topic coming up once before a while back. The discussion about it should still be somewhere in the section. That trick was mentioned when it was discussed back then.

Yeah I just tried the trick and it worked wonders for me. I have a few rare games left, but I’m just wrapping up my normal monsters first. I’m also trying to finish the Sky Pirates Den, but that is almost impossible. I cannot get those concurrences to save my life…

Nightrikku, have you read The Quickenings Thread? My guess is you’re going about your Chaining the wrong way. I got a 17-Chain a little earlier today and I wasn’t even really trying that hard for it. The key things to remember are:

A.) Don’t spam R2 like crazy, hit it deliberately and carefully and watch quickly for opportunities to use Quickenings to pop up.
B.) Whenever you see a Mist Charge appear, quickly hit that key, then hit again, or one of the others that pops up.
