So, Larva Eater…

Alright, I am trying to do a perfect game, all I got left is beating Omega and Yiazmat, but that’s beside the point… I’m talking about how I’m trying to collect every item. All I’m missing is the Wyrmhero Blade (duh), Grand Helm, Grand Armor, and Danjuro (the item in question).

So, I have beaten the Larva eater once. Now, I know you need to make 256 kills to spawn it in any of the "Vikarii" places (that’s what I heard). But other faqs have told me that near Way Stone XIII and XIV it’ll spawn a lot if you get a Necrophobe chain of at least 20. Does the latter work? Or was it a misinterpretation with those 20 being the last 20 they happened to kill of the 256. I tried it once, didn’t work… so can anyone confirm/deny this? I really don’t want to have to keep killing 256 monsters. I’ve seen a couple youtubes stating it took 12 hours… also I know about the Mom-Bomb trick to chain Larva Eater.

On a side note… tricks to getting the GH or GA anyone know? As far as I know you can’t chain Helvinek or Tower.

I’ve chained Helvinek, and it didn’t take long at all. Tower is just time consuming.

Basically get him at the bottom of the grand stairway, turn off ALL the healing/status gambits on your lead character, grab the drop and zone before his body disappears. Zone back INSTANTLY, and he’ll reappear. Rinse and reapeat.

You need the gambits off so that character won’t cast anything after he falls and you can grab and run.

That’s for a 122333 game, so it won’t be a problem for a normal game.

Ah yes, I’ve seen that zoning trick for the Ash Wyrm in Mosphoran, but didn’t know it was possible to grab the drop while doing it like that, doesn’t it come after it already says the experience?

Nope. Well before. You want to be zoned before the EXP shows up, preferably. Before his body disappears is risking it.

It might work with a 30 Necrophobe chain – as far as I know, after the first time you kill it (without leaving the area) it will appear after every 30-255 kills.

Haven’t done Larva Eater, yet. I’m going to do that Bomb method. I’ll just use a lazy day to do it. I don’t feel like rubberbanding my controller for the other method.
