Question: I just beat the game on normal mode and I figured that I’d be able to carry over my weapons and exp onto another game, even one on a higher level of difficulty. Is this at all possible? If it isn’t, this game sucks and if it is, how do I go about it?

Yes,you can carry your previous weapons AND gils over the next game. However,it must be note that you’ll need to play on Ex Hard mode.As the enemies in Ex Hard mode are a lot tougher than Normal/Hard mode, try to upgrade all your weapons as much as you can.

But you also you have to know that you will still be at Level 1. Exp does not carry over to the next game. Just the Gil, Weapons/Upgrades , And Items. Trust me in Ex Hard Mode since I played and beat it, upgrade your pistol to fast shooting and bullet capacity to rifle. But I don’t know it was easier for me that way.
Btw special weapons aren’t stronger then the original ones you get. Once you max upgrade them you will see a difference.

I tried to start a new game on normal to test but my guns are the same pee – poppers I had last time. What am I doing wrong?

Meaning continue and start off? Or just made a new game completely because thats not going to work. If not srry to not add this but you can’t beat this game on easy and then make those transfers. Its only on Normal or Hard Mode. Ex Hard Mode is when the real fights begin. Normal and Hard is where you can actually transfer gil and weapons.

Even then, no one is realy answering my question. I already tried to transfer my gil and weapons on normal mode and I can’t. There must be a right and a wrong way for this. Also, I’m playing the American version. Someone, please give me BASIC instruction (from the start screen) on how to start a new game with customized weapons and accum. gil!

SOMEONE, HEP MEH PLEASE!

Open your file and select the very first save (Midgar), it will ask you what level you want to play on, select Ex Hard and press X. You’ll start with all your gear.

Doesn’t change the fact that this game sucks, though. :p

Knegative is right, even if Ex Hard Mode is all so good, the whole game still is easy and sucks to the point where it’s just a shooter like any other. Just a little change here and there, slap on the FFVII Label but that’s not enough.

No, it wasn’t. Good thing I only LOST $20.00 over it. But still…

Thanks for the help though, you guys!
