I haven’t seen anything similar to FFVIII anime or otherwise. However Akira shares a similar cyberpunk feel and setting as FFVII, but it’s not FFVIII 🙁

I can’t imagine why you would want to watch an anime similar to a game that you probably completed over a hundred times. By all means, the d�ja vu feeling would be huge, plus it’d most likely feel like all the characters got raped and horribly mutated into something else.
