Edited in a better link, you can buy both sets there for Australia.
Also, I didn’t think to check .com.au sites /facepalm, but this looks good.

I’ve not seen this yet myself. But have heard good things about it, and going by that list you included, it seems to me as if it’d be the kind of thing you’d likely be interested in. =)
I second this motion, and as FFShrines Official Ghost in the Shell expert I think this is a most excellent series. I would suggest watching the movies/seasons in the correct order which is as follows;
Ghost in the Shell (The Movie): Cyberpunk movies in 1995, NO FUCKING WAI
GITS2: Innocence: This is a philosophical film imo, lots of neato quotes that I absolutely love. I thought I didn’t like it at first, but sitting down to soak it in makes it actually pretty good even if it does lack my usual dose of Major Kusanagi.
GITS Stand Alone Complex 1st GIG: These are the first 26 episodes that deal with the Laughing Man case. It starts off with Section 9 doing their usual routine until an old hacker case resurfaces and causes all kinds of tomfoolery. Throughout the season, Section 9 uncovers some epic government corruption so the govt is all pewpew take down S9.
GITS SAC 2nd GIG: Individual Eleven cases, it starts off with crazy shit, some ugly cunt who thinks he’s fucking :smrt:, refugees who compact cocaine into small animal figures and are all pissed at Japan, the refugee leader talks without moving his mouth, mad fucking skill right there. 2nd GIG is better IMO, more Major Kusanagi background, actually good fillers that don’t seem like fillers, easier story to follow, blah blah blah. The ending sets up a series of events that lead to…
GITS SAC: Solid State Society: This movie continues where the Major has left Section 9 and it has changed the division quite a bit. Anyway, the story goes with B1 and B2 following a case in which thousands of children are turning up abducted and suicides all over the place. B1 runs into the Major on a side mission-esque but he fails to tell the rest of his colleagues because it is made to look like shes behind the dirty work…. not going any farther on this one. I believe I posted a review of it in that nutty recommendations board.
This is all off the top of my head and I really haven’t watched it in quite some time, so yeah if I made any mistakes, fuck it. Tried being brief without being confusing. I typed alot, lol.
and yes, B1 & B2 is referring to Bananas in Pajamas. I felt like being creative instead of real names.

It used to come on Adult Swim all the time and I would wait for the half hour to be over because I didn’t understand anything that was going on. I just happened to catch an episode one night that hooked me to it during the peak of a season.
Also what am I linking too; where to buy it, download, I dunno ?_?
full metal panic: hilariously awesome, espically the spinoff series Fumoffu. the full metal jacket parody episode is the stuff of legends.
initial d: if you like cars and zomg boy racerz this is quite good.
the melancholy of haruhi suzumiya: just watch it, kthx.
slayers: only started watching this lately, but i quite like it.
death note: starts strong, but goes to shit about 12 episodes in. the first couple of episodes are well worth watching though.
black lagoon: if you want violence, this is the anime for you. it also has well written characters and is a high quality show.
im far from an expert, but these are all pretty enjoyable and id recommend them all.
they all have detailed wiki articles and you can download them all easily from isohunt.com.

There really is a lot of great stuff out there that NOBODY will actually recommend to you, and the only way to find it (and if you like, bring it to others) is to search for it yourself. That’s the way I’ve worked for years, and because of it, I’ve seen a lot of neat stuff that most people here have never heard of or never bothered to look into.
