Emphatic Damage

Another Jaro thread, sorry guys but I am curious. What is the most amount of damage you have done with a single turn of command? I found that Kamikaze when combined with an STR of 255 does a healthy 49,950 damage. Of course the player is removed from the battle but I still find it amusing to do that much. The other big one for me is Eden – I currently have Eden junctioned to Zell whom I don’t think Eden particularly likes 😉 And do not have a particularly high MAG for Zell and it’s hitting around 33,000 with a boost up to 250.

Any other emphatic means of damage out there?

In terms of one attack doing >9,999 damage, Kamikaze, Eden and Quistis’ ShockWave Pulsar are the only ones your characters can do that I can recall. Cactuar can also exceed the limit, but only up to 10,000 at lvl 100.

Chocobuckle (gained from Chocobo World) can break the damage limit, but, of course, you have to have PC version or Pocketstation to gain it, and even then, it’s not easy and probably not worth it.

I don’t think I ever had the privelidge of having Quistis’ Shockwave Pulsar ability. I was aware that it did >9999 damage but didn’t realise how much. What exactly does the damage rely on? Quistis’ MAG or STR? (Or other?) (Curious as I have her in my party this time around – can’t seem to get hold of those damned Curse Spikes though to refine them into Dark Matter for it :()

The only ways I know of exceeding the damage limit are:

Angel Wing*
Wishing Star
Shockwave Pulsar
Kamikaze
Eternal Breath
10,000 Needles

* Under Angel Wing, Rinoa never casts any supportive/restoration magic; she only uses offensive magic. If you only have one type of offensive spell in stock, she’ll be forced to use it. If you boost her magic up to 255, and have the only offensive spell in her stock as Meteor, then under Angel Wing she’ll only be able to cast Meteor . The good thing about this is that since her magic is unbelievably high, all the actual meteors will do 9,999 points of damage. And since there are 10 meteors in the spell…it’s more like 99,999 pts of damage every turn without using up the meteor spell.

If we’re counting Angel Wing, then why aren’t we counting Lionheart?

Might as well throw in Irvine’s Shot limit there too.

If you’re throwing that in, then may as have Zell’s Duel as well. And couldn’t Laguna’s Desperado and Kiros’s Blood Pain attack multiple times as well?
