im just at the part where you meet freya and all my guys are at about level 9 or so.

i cant remember if when she joins your party she starts at level 1 like everyone else, or on an average of everyones current level. same with eiko amarant and quina. im just wondering if i should spend time leveling up beforehand.

I’m trying to think and I’m pretty sure for eiko and Quina you get them at an average of your levels, I think. But I’m not sure for Freya, I’d think that they would probably make her at an average of your levels or else she would be a couple levels behind all the time. But since you get her pretty early in the game you never know.

Its on the everage. You certainly dont get her at lvl1.

k thats what i thought, but i had steiner zidane and vivi at 6 and dagger was still level 1 when i got her

….yeah the characters usually start between 1-2 levels behind zidane, at zidanes level, or 1-2 levels above zidane

see that makes me wonder. is it an average or already determined number?

like is amarant always on level 23 reguardless of whether youre on 12 or 70 when you get him or is he really an average.

if you just go through the game normally its hard to tell if its actually based on how much exp you have or not.

Basically the character’s level is the average level of the characters in your party at the time. For instance:

Zidane, Vivi, Steiner, and Dagger are the only four characters who start off at level 1.

Freya’s level is the average of Vivi and Zidane. During the Festival of the Hunt, she’s Zidane’s level (since he’s the only one in the party when she joins).

If Quina joins on Disc 1, his level the average of Zidane, Vivi, and Freya. If he joins on Disc 2, it’s the average of Zidane, Vivi, and Dagger.

Eiko’s level is the average of Zidane, Vivi, Dagger, and Quina.

Amarant is the only weird one. His level is the average of Zidane, Dagger, Quina, and Eiko… OR Blank’s level when he left your party on Disc 1, whichever is higher.

The Tantalus boys all join at level 1. On Disc 2 (when the two fight to help Zidan & co. escape), Beatrix is the same level as Freya, and on Disc 3 (destruction of Alexandria), she’s either the same level as Steiner, or the level she was at when she left your party on disc 2, whichever is higher.

(…one of the only reasons I know this is because I actually tried a level one game and wanted to figure out how to get characters to join at level 1 and which ones could.)

DO NOT ever save your game on a used file. it will multiply uncontrollably and you will have to start the game all over again with no used files
