Simpson was paid $25,000 within 30 days of the contract being signed last January, with the rest scheduled to be paid within a month of the release of the game, according to a contract obtained by TheStreet.com between Take-Two and Justin Communications, which represented Simpson in the deal.

However…
OJ Simpson being in APF 2K8 is unlikely to keep anyone from specifically purchasing it… I would not be surprised however if the topic is brought up sometime heading up to release. The question is whether 2K is actually seeking out the negative press this could present as a way to get the game some attention.
Last month, a Los Angeles court ordered Simpson to turn over any royalties and licensing fees earned from the use of his likeness in the game to the estate of murder victim Ron Goldman.
Quite silly of Take Two in the first place though.

First off, people have gotten away with worse.
Second, at this point for the families – especially the Goldmans, it’s all about the money.
