Hi everyone, I just got FFXXII anda I’m really enjoying it.

How does it work the Gambit System? I mean, I kinda understood it, but I believe it could make my life so much easier, I just don’t know how to do it yet.

I never changed my gambits throughout the whole game but I’ll try to tell you as good as I can.

You pick a command for you to do and you set it to do it to who you want and what. The more gambits you have the more things you can do. ex. Self, HP below 10%, Curaga. That means you do curaga to yourself when HP is below 10% HP. I kind of forgot what it look likes so the ex. might look wrong.

That is a very small description of how it works, someone could probably explain better unless someone’s already posted how it works before me.

Try picking up the strategy guide(maybe the limited edition version), it has a great description of the gambit system, or check on gamefaqs.com in the FF XII page.

The gambits and the lack of random battles really make this my favorite battle system in any rpg ever! I don’t get stopped by enemies and the computer does most of the work for me! 🙂

When you find out about the Negalmuur auto-leveling method, you are gonna have a heart attack! 🙂

The Gambit system allows any commands, that you would have to manually input thru a menu display box in traditional FF battle systems, to be executed automatically in real-time. Each Gambit is composed of a ‘condition/target’ and an ‘action’. E.g. ‘Foe: lowest HP’ –> ‘Attack’ would mean that the character with this gambit turned on will only target the enemy with the lowest HP out of two or more within the character’s vicinity.

There are Gambits associated with healing such as Ally: HP < 70% –> Cure or Ally status: Confused –> Smelting Salts. Since Gambits are performed depending on the order in which you place them, it’s advised that you’d place these above your attacking Gambits to ensure that healing takes place during battle instead of when you finish a fight.

Thanks for all your opinions!

I am stil at the beggining, just got my first flight on an Airship.

But my main doubt is: which gambit I use if someone dies?

pheonix down and target any, then upgrade to raise.

Ally:any –> Phoenix Down

Or if you’re too frugal about using up your items:-

Ally:any –> Raise

This gambit should be prioritised above all others and assigned to the top spot.

Fuck! Is Square-Enix going nuts or something? Did I use the "Clic" remote without noticing? Because I was sure the next one to come out was XIII. Now you say you just bought FF XXII?

Is it good? Does it use holographic visuals or some neat things like that? Tell me more about it, please.

I was surprised that I didn’t see any posts like that sooner, I myself contemplated doing the same thing ;).

You come back months later to post this shit?

Maybe it is time for you to find the box in which you put your common sense.

If you ever got any.
