Our school dance staff is taking song submissions from class members so I was wondering if any of you knew of any good dance music. I don’t care if it’s techno or rock or whatever, just anything to liven up the place a bit.

They never play anything we (my friends and I) like, and it’s pretty much what you would hear on MTV or during that time the repetitive, loud thumpin’, fast paced, extacy rave, Deep House bullshit.

They’re super, sexy, super-sexy, and on some albums, out-of-print. But those are only going to interest you if you’re interested in "artsy" jazz/electronica. De-Phazz is able to make anything sound sexy. Like being on the internet, for example.

Well unless it’s an 80’s theme. There gonna choose recent popular songs which wiil happen to be pop/soft rock/punk/rap. That’s not so bad but it’s modern day music so, retch.

Rap music would actually be good if they put more instrumental accompaniment into it, as illustrated by the rap themes used in JRPGs in games like Ar-Tonelico (about 2-3 of the battle themes had short, 40 second raps at the end), Star Ocean 3 ("Bitter Dance"), and Persona 3 (many of them) are excellent, and rap isn’t a genre I search out, either.

Unfortunately, most people think indistinguishable lyrics are fashionable, that "being pimp" or "gasgsta" or "ghetto" are admirable traits, and rap vocals just sound like they’re talking rhythmically. If you ask me, that’s just not music.

It’s because I don’t care for the vocal style, lyrics, subject matter, or the vocalist(s) themselves, that rap music, more often than not, strikes out with me.

Schwarzer, I do enjoy some of these hip hop artists (even though they might actually be the same sorta rap you’d actually dislike, not sure) but these are very enjoyable nonetheless, imho:

Cannibal Ox, De La Soul, Combat Wombat, Bone Thugs-N-Harmony, Pedestrian, Manau, Cage, The Pharcyde, Quasimoto, Thavius Beck, and RJD2.
