Entering the North(ern) Cave/Crater

What level would you recommend to have my party on before entering? By entering, I mean jumping off the Highwind in the crater in the ground.

Obviously Cloud will be of a higher level than the others…

Early/mid 50s should do it, depending on your equipment. I’d say your equipment and abilities are far more important than your levels, to be honest. Make sure you have Big Guard and White Wind before going in, and I’d reccomend buying some Remedies too. You can get them in Mideel.

Northern cave is nothing to sweat, it has *THE BEST* training spot in the gaming for xp and materia. Your only worry is just one dude, the master tonberry and even then he’s fuckin easy, he never seems to hurt anyone but cloud severly from what I’ve noticed.

The only other thing to watch out for is put your save point BEFORE your party splits up into two different paths

and dont worry when your party splits up, you can still leave the north cave and get them all back.

Because his "Everyone’s Grudge" attack calculates damage to a character by how many enemies that character has killed.

I always make sure to get everything done before I enter the Crater. I do the Choboco breeding quest (to get Knights of the ‘Round Table) and level up to at least level 55.

The game is a breeze, and especially when you unlock all of their Limit Breaks and get Knights of the ‘Round Table and Mimic. xD

I’m assuming that I can’t fight Emerald/Ruby Weapon after defeating Sephiroth, though?

Yes. But if you ever become powerful enough to actually beat either of the WEAPONs, Sephiroth will be a piece of piss.

yeah. i only found sephiroth hard when i had to fight in a three team battle. cait sith and barret were crap compared to the rest and just kept getting humped over and over again:(

well, i had no choice you see. it all depends on clouds level, how long it took you to reach and kill jenova synthesis. which i done way too quickly thanks to 4x cut.

I have no idea what you just said, Sheila, because I never, ever changed parties during the final battles. Heh, not even the first time I played the game in 97.

Knights of the round? Yea it’s cool I guess…
I fuckin never use it though, Didn’t use it on emerald or ruby and horribly slaughtered both of them.

All in all you dont need knights of the round
