Question on Yuna’s eyes

I know that she’s part al bhed but I’m just wondering…. why doesn’t her green eye have a spiral iris/pupil what ever yeah. I’m just wondering because if you are half you are mean to have both genes together.

Oversight from the producers, watered down genes, etc. I don’t think there is any explanation to the fact, and never thought about it until you brought it up.

Probably because it would look incredibly freaky, and Yuna is supposed to be a "girl-next-door" kind of character.

So, she’s got her Father’s eyes. Eye genes that are awkward from the norms tend to be recessive. The Al Bhed have become pecular and homogenized though over 50 generations of endogamy…

…And more importantly, the producers wanted Yuna’s Al Bhed mother to be a surpise… couldn’t have that if she had her mother’s eyes. Aside from the eyes all the other features were present among the Yevonite mainlanders, but the particular combination of these features, such as face, build, hair color, hair type, that occur specifically among the Al Bhed. Mix these features with those present among the Yevonites in Bevelle(Those of Bevelle’s aristocracy to be precise, as they are distinct even among the people of Bevelle, who are distinct themselves among the other Yevonite mainlanders), then you have someone who looks no different from any other Yevonite. She passes as a mainlander, even for a few odd features. (Her face has a rounder curvature. Shorter Jaw line than the long jaw of her father, that is also found among most of aristocrats of Bevelle. Her hair is a straight and light brown, in contrast to her father’s waving, black hair.) When you look at her next to her parents you can see that she is a decent mix between the two, and it’s only after carefully comparing her to her mother that her Al Bhed lineage becomes apparent.
