Although I’ve been dying to get a Wii, I got a Gamecube instead. For several reasons:

1. Cheaper.

2. My Aunt has a wii, and any wii-specific games I want to play, I can play on her console pretty much whenever I want.

3. I missed out on the N64/GC era of gaming completely. I think I rented Mario 64 on a rented N64, like, twice, and that was it.

But all that aside, I’m looking for some good game recommendations. Anything really, although a brief description and a note about why you like it would be cool. I’m clueless about GC games/nintendo-specific series in general.

ATM, I have Mario Party, and I’ve ordered the LoZ: Collectors Edition and Super Smash Bros Melee. Is Wind Waker any good? And what about Twilight Princess, since its my understanding that it is also out for GameCube? Any other non-mario/zelda titles worth checking out? Any RPGs (as in the japanese ones, FF-esque types) available?

Wind Waker and Twilight Princess are both great Cassadilia

My personal favorite Gamecube game is Resident Evil 4. It’s crazy fun

Another good actiony title is Beyond Good & Evil

If you like racing, F Zero GX is prty great IMO, and well, Mario Kart Double Dash is essential. ESSENTIAL.

Paper Mario the Thousand Year Door is a nice l’alll RPG

Also – I’ve not personally played it but I hear Animal Crossing is pretty fun

Super Mario Sunshine, I highly recommend.

If you haven’t already ordered Luigi’s Mansion already, I’d recommend this game, too.

There’s also Battalion Wars, if you’re interested. Real-Time Strategy to stir the old gray matter is always good.

Is Wind Waker any good?

Yes. All those rumors of Wind Waker being a fiasco have been quelled.

And what about Twilight Princess, since its my understanding that it is also out for GameCube?

Yep. The only difference I’ve heard is the obviously the graphics, and the style is right-to-left, rather than left-to-right, or something along those lines.

Mario Kart Double Dash is essential. ESSENTIAL.

Paper Mario the Thousand Year Door is a nice l’alll RPG

I’ve not personally played it but I hear Animal Crossing is pretty fun

Advocating for these three, too.

You might also consider Mario Golf: Toadstool Tour. Superb music coupled with the replay value of this game and the easiness of learning, yet difficult to master style of play deem it worthy of a purchase.

Super Mario Sunshine I highly recommend.

She already ordered it 😮

Oh and you know there is an FF RPG on Game Cube, Crystal Chronicles, it’s not quite your typical FF game but I thought it was still pretty fun

I found Crystal Chronicles on my own pretty boring and my friends didn’t own the gameboy advances necessary for multi player.

I would recommend Metroid Prime and Metroid Prime 2. I didn’t enjoy the second one as much but I still liked it. Loved the first one though.

Windwaker, Smash Bros, Animal Crossing and super mario sunshine are all fine games also.

I also had a lot of fun playing Goldeneye: rogue agent.

Resident Evil 4 is one of the best games ever made, for definite. I liked Twin Snakes too but it is basically the original MGS with better cut scenes. The Metroid Primes, Paper Mario, SSMB Melee and Mario Sunshine are all enjoyable tooooo.

Any of these (http://uk.gamespot.com/games.html?type=top_rated&platform=11&mode=all&sort=score&dlx_type=all&date_filter=all&sortdir=asc) basically.

Crystal Chronicles is only fun if you have three other people to play it with.

And in addition to what’s already been mentioned, make sure you pick up Pikmin.

If you’re looking for an RPG, I’ve heard that Tales of Symphonia was great.

I also enjoyed the remake of the first Resident Evil, Resident Evil Zero, and Resident Evil 4 (as was mentioned).

If you love tennis, like myself, you might like Mario Power Tennis.

If you enjoy farming, I would highly recommend the Harvest Moon series.

My personal list of must have CG games:

Metroid Prime (the second one is good as well, but the first one is better… almost flawless if you ask me)
Resident Evil 4
Skies of Arcadia Legend
Zelda Wind Waker (is it any good you ask? If you ask me, I would say I consider this game as the best in the whole series alongside "A Link to the Past"… so yeah, it is good.)
Zelda Twilight Princess
Tales of Symphonia
F-Zero GX (if you like hard games)
Super Smash Bros. Melee
