Presumably, the sewers also serve as Deling City’s potable waterway and a water mill to power certain above-ground structures (hence the water wheels). SeeD’s mission just never takes you through the nasty areas, apparently.

Well it is a video game world so therefore the characters in that video game world are video game characters which would mean that they don’t eat which would mean that they don’t shit which would lead to having very clean sewers.

Or they have many sewer janitors, but hey, it’s Japan! They probably have a custodian or two with Cleanara and Cleanaja. It could also be that those numerous monsters in the sewers feed off of human feces and other wastes/garbage; it would save on having to clean them… probably makes sewer waters drinkable. ‘o.O

it’s a PS1 game. Imagining drawing all the pixels for all the shit in the sewers, not to mention all of the new text for the characters to say in relation to the shit. They saved a lot of money by keeping the shit at bay. Also, don’t forget about how much people would hate to have huge piles of shit in their game.

Nah, they would just have to draw some defecation on some of the wall textures and have the characters make a line or two about the how dirty the sewers are and how nasty they smell. They would laso have to alter the color of the water a bit, that’s all.

It would be some work though if they threw in some Ninja Turtles.

Mr. Clean lives there, but he turned into a shadowy monster and can’t leave the sewers anymore. He is bound to it and he is only doing what he knows best, CLEAN. I fought him a couple times because he attacked me randomly. Must be because I was stealing his magical cleaning powers by way of the DRAW command or something. I could not reason with him so I just beat him up.

I’ve never been in an actual sewer, but are the waters supposed to be so shallow-looking? It looks like Squall/Laguna and company could just walk across, unless it’s hydrochloric acid.

Also, Vinzer Deling is a fascist tyrant. In Galbadia, the trains run on time and the sewers are spotless. Nobody likes the president because they all have to go out onto the overworld to take a shit.

Imagine the piles of crap the average Behemoth would produce while taking a dump is the sewers there… Wouldn’t be much fun to lead your characters through huge piles of black crap would it?
