I recently dug up a whole bunch of really old mix cassettes and MiniDiscs, and I’ve been going through the process of converting them to iTunes playlists so I can take myself back to "a better time" so to speak.

One of the mixes I made was so huge, it actually spanned two cassettes and was entirely made up of Squaresoft game music, alternating between original rips and various studio arrangements that they’d produced.

On one of the cassettes, however, I found an orchestration of the original "Chrono Trigger" theme. This is not to be confused with OC Remix’s orchestration project, which used a synthesizer to orchestrate various selections from the game. This was an honest-to-goodness orchestra playing "Chrono Trigger", and it was a fairly good arrangement at that.

I’ve done some research, but I can’t seem to come up with the source of the track. For some reason, I have in the back of my mind that it wasn’t actually a full-on orchestrated Chrono Trigger soundtrack but a collection of various Squaresoft tunes, though take that suggestion with a grain of salt because I’m basing it on vague, ten-year-old memories and a gut feeling.

Has anyone ever encountered such a track and would know where to find it?

Even if nobody can actually track down the music, I’m curious to know where it came from so I could procure my own search. If necessary, I’ll even upload a very poor-quality version of it to aid in the search, but since it’s originally on cassette, it won’t sound very good.

Many thanks for your efforts, and I appreciate any contributions.

Oh my God… Yes, that’s it.

You’re amazing. I owe you a beer and a sandwich.

Sure thing, if by "sandwich", you mean me, two (female) super models, and a whole lot of butter.
