Does taking your ps2 through the xray thing in an airport mess it up? I need to know because I am dont want to put it in my suitcase since the people who put the suitcases in the plane dont really treat the suitcases to well. So I am going to bring my Ps2 with me as a carry on. But the last time I took my ps2 with me and back a few months later it stopped reading discs. I dont know if it was the xray things or if the eye on the ps2 that reads discs was bad. I dont know if the xray thing is true or not I was told that from a group of people. Can someone make things clearer. Also I didnt know where this would fit in so I just put it here in the Happy Birthday Discussion.

hmm I would think, no. But I’m unsure I know magnets cause it to stop working but x-rays I don’t know.

By the xray thing i mean the thing that you put your bag to go through so they can check your bag for guns and bombs.

People carry electronic devices in their luggage all the time. It’s safe.

I’ve taken my PS2 on flights before and had it go through the scanner. It doesn’t mess it up.

They’ll generally ask you if you have any electronics when you are going through the luggage check. Let them know. They’ll ask you to take it out and put it in a separate basket thing. And that’s it. I had to do it with my digitial camera and laptop. As far as bringing it on the plane itself, that should be no problem.

Before my trip to LA last year, I didn’t hear anyone say anything like that till my lap top had already been scanned. I don’t know if it was that, or just damage during the trip because luggage gets thrown around (one time I got back luggage where all the contents inside were totally fucked) but the computer definitely didn’t work as well afterwards. Lots of problems suddenly came up.

Traveled with a PS2 when I went to Alaska though and that came out fine, indeed indeed
