Personally I don’t like this thread not because of the randomness of it, but simply because he failed to mention which website got hacked. The others who joined in can then say the same about which of their websites got hacked. So far no one has named locations and that is annoying, as it leaves a lot of the thread basically filler material with no real substance. Leaving the on topic posts to read something like this.
Oh by the way my favorite website got hacked today. It sucks but I won’t link to it.
If you feel the need to post something random like that at least provide details so that others may actually follow what you are saying other than nodding their head in agreement. Which is really hard to do over the Internet.
Obviously it’s a secret forum which he hangs out in, is that so hard to comprehend? Bill: “What a job! I didn’t like commentating that much. Introducing first in this King of the Ring Finals match, he is the leader of the Garamond World Order, Hollywood Garamond!”
*Garamond gets inside the ring and leans on the ropes, waiting for AEnima to make his way down to the ring. AEnima’s music hits. He rushes down to the ring and gets right inside. He right after Garamond with a clothesine, and takes him down. Garamond gets back to his feet and goes right after AEnima, who gets Garamond’s arm and takes him down with an arm drag. Garamond gets back up and goes after AEnima again, who takes him down with an arm dragon once more. Garamond gets back to his feet and begins walking about, waiting for AEnima to strike. AEnima just stands there, all confident in his own talent, and begins to taunt the Hollywood Man. Garamond gets mad, and goes right after AEnima with a clothesline. AEnima dodges, and gets Garamond right from behind. AEnima goes in for a back suplex, but Garamond lands in an elbow right to the face, forcing AEnima to release his grip on Garamond. Garamond quickly kicks AEnima in the gut and positions him for a powerbomb. Garamond tries to lifts AEnima, but AEnima just stands back on his feet, flipping Garamond right over. Garamond is sent into the mat. He gets himself back to his feet, but AEnima takes him right down with a clothesline. AEnima gets Garamond back up and sends him to the ropes. He gets Garamond as he comes back, and goes for a fall-away slam. AEnima connects, and goes right for the pin. 1…2…2! Garamond gets the shoulder up.*
Angle: “Garamond can do it! YOU CAN!”
*AEnima scouts Garamond as he gets up to his feet. He gets Garamond in a headlock, and quickly takes him down to the mat. AEnima gets Garamond legs and goes for the Texas Cloverleaf. Garamond quickly goes for the ropes, but AEnima just pulls him back to the center of the ring. Garamond tries to get over to the ropes once more, but AEnima just pulls Garamond right back. Garamond finally manages to get out of the hold after getting his legs free. AEnima gets Garamond back to his feet and sends him to the turnbuckle. AEnima rushes at Garamond and goes in for a spear. Garamond gets out of the way, but AEnima manages to stay on his two feet and avoid the contact with the turnbuckle. Garamond lands a low blow and goes for a school boy on an unsuspecting AEnima. Garamond goes for the pin, all while having his feet on the ropes. 1…2…2! AEnima still manages to kick out even after Garamond’s cheating ways.*
Angle: “That’s not fair.”
*Garamond gets back to his feet and begins kick AEnima. Garamond gets him back to his feet and takes him back down with a scoop slam. Garamond gets AEnima back to his feet and applies a Dragon Sleeper from behind. AEnima tries to reach for the ropes, but Garamond just gets him out of the way. The referee checks on AEnima, as Garamond grabs one of the ropes so he can apply additional pressure to the neck and back of AEnima. Garamond releases once the referee looks. The referee tells Garamond to stop it.*
Angle: “Garamond didn’t do anything.”
*Garamond continues to lock on the dragon sleeper, and doesn’t continue his cheating ways because of the referee. AEnima tries to battle his way out, but just can’t find the strength.*
Angle: “Garamond has control! Go him!”
*The crowd begins cheering for AEnima as Garamond continues to apply the sleeper. AEnima, with a sudden burst of strength, manages to grab Garamond with one of his arms. AEnima gets himself back up, all while lifting AEnima onto his right shoulder. AEnima slams Garamond right down with a front slam. Garamond is seemingly out cold. AEnima goes for the pin. 1…2…2! Garamond gets the shoulder up before the count of three.*
Angle: “Gara!”
*AEnima gets Garamond back up and sends him right into the turnbuckle. AEnima goes over to the turnbuckle and gets Garamond to the top rope. AEnima goes for a superplex, but Garamond pushes AEnima right off and onto the mat. Garamond scouts AEnima as he gets back up and goes flying with a turnbuckle clothesline. Garamond connects, taking AEnima down. He goes for the pin. 1…2…2! AEnima kicks out before the count of three.*
Angle: “GARAMONDY!”
*Garamond gets AEnima back up and delivers a right hand, follows by a series of lefts and right. Garamond ends it with a big right hand, taking AEnima down. Garamond scouts AEnima as he gets onto one knee, and lands a devastating kick right to his face. Garamond goes for the pin once more. 1…2…2! AEnima manages to kick out yet again! Garamond is outraged!*
Angle: “That was a three count!”
*Garamond gets AEnima back to his feet and kicks him and gets him onto his shoulder with a firearm carry. Garamond signals for the Holy Sword Eternal. AEnima manages to pull Garamond down from behind and get him into a pin. 1…2…2! Garamond kicks out before the count of three.*
Angle: “Garamond must win!”
*Garamond and AEnima get back to their feet. Garamond goes right after AEnima from behind and grapples him around the stomach in preparation for the German, but AEnima lands a big elbow right to his face, forcing him to break the hold. Garamond goes back, taking a few steps while holding onto his face. Garamond turns around to go after AEnima once more, but AEnima comes rushing at him and connects with the spear. Garamond is down, and the crowd erupts. AEnima signals for the Jackhammer.*
Angle: “NO! NO! NO! THIS ISN’S SUPPOSED TO HAPPEN!”
*AEnima gets Garamond as he gets back up and goes for tha Jackhammer. AEnima lifts Garamond, who manages to get right out of the hold and right behind AEnima. Garamond gets AEnima ready for a German, but AEnima lands in another elbow, forcing Garamond to break the hold once again. AEnima gets Garamond by the hand and wrenches it right behind him. AEnima goes for a wrist-lock back drop. He connects, and goes for the pin. 1…2…2! Garamond gets the shoulder up before the count of three.*
Angle: “Garamond shoulder man!”
*AEnima gets Garamond back to his feet and sends him to the ropes. Garamond comes back right at AEnima with a Holy Sword Slice!, taking him right down. Garamond sees AEnima knocked out on the ground and signals for the diving elbow drop. Garamond gets to the top ropes and goes flying right off of it. Garamond connects with it, impaling his elbow right into AEnima. Garamond goes for the pin. 1…2…2! AEnima kicked out! Garamond can’t believe it!*
Angle: “That’s not… I don’t… blah!”
*Garamond begins complaining to the referee about the two count, but the referee won’t have it. Garamond gets AEnima back to his feet goes for a snap suplex. Garamond connects, mainting his hold on AEnima, and goes for another snap suplex. Garamond connects and goes for a pin. 1…2…2! AEnima kicks out once again. Garamond’s mad.*
Angle: “That’s not good…”
*Garmaond gets AEnima back up and begins a series of knees right to his face. AEnima begins to bleed from the face. Garamond gets AEnima and sends him to the turnbuckle. Garamond rushes after AEnima, and connects with a clothsline, sending him back further into the turnbuckle. AEnima begins wandering around the ring dazed. Garamond gets AEnima and gets him in position for a powerbomb. Garamond lifts. Garamond slams. He goes for the pin. 1…2…2! AEnima manages to get the shoulder up!*
Angle: “Garamond should’ve won this!”
*Garamond complains to the referee once again as he gets AEnima back to his feet. Garamond gets him ready for the Holy Sword Slice, when AEnima suddenly gets in a series of rights to Garamond. AEnima ends it with a kick right to his gut followed by a DDT, taking Garamond down. AEnima scouts Garamond as he gets back to his feet and takes him down with a spear. AEnima signals for the Jackhammer as Garamond gets back to his feet. AEnima gets Garamond. AEnima lifts. AEnima slams. He goes for the pin, but the referee is distracted!*
Angle: “Good going Viper!”
*AEnima gets back to his feet after a long while, and sees the referee is distracted with Viper. AEnima delivers a right hand to Viper, taking him right the ring, and into the barricade. Garamond gets AEnima from behind with a low blow for a second time in this match, taking him down. Garamond back to his feet and gets AEnima. He gets AEnima onto his shoulders and goes for the Holy Sword Eternal! Garamond connects, knocking AEnima out cold.*
Angle: “Yay! Viper helped us all!”
*Garamond goes to the top rope and goes flying off with a dragon attack. Garamond connects, and goes for the pin.*

Viper connects with the Lethal Venom, knocking AEnima out cold. He puts Garamond’s right hand over AEnima, and lifts the referee up. The referee sees the pin and goes for the count.*

Suddenly, the pilot enters the cabin looking white-faced. He apologises for the inconvenience, but announces that due to engine failure the plane is about to crash.
"Regrettably there are only four parachutes," he announces, "but I know you’ll agree that I should take one so I can report the cause of the crash". So saying, he grabs a parachute and jumps out of the plane.
The priest says he has a flock of five thousand souls to look after, and he is a very important person to them. He grabs the second parachute and out he jumps.
Then the Brain of Ireland steps forward and says he has to represent Ireland in the "Brain of the World" competition next month, so for his country’s sake he feels he has to take a parachute. So saying, he jumps.
The Englishman turns to the Australian and says "Well, old chap, only one parachute left. What do we do now?".
"No worries, mate," says the Aussie, "there’s still two parachutes; the bloody Brain of Ireland took my bloody rucksack."

Julia Child never really thought much about food for most of her life, but her experiences living in Sri Lanka, China, and especially France changed her life. She became a cooking fanatic, and wanted to share her love of food with the rest of the world. More specifically, however, Julia Child wanted to introduce American’s to the idea that French cooking was something they, too, could do at home. Her media of choice was twofold: a cookbook and a television show. Through authoring the book and starring in the television show, Julia Child created art whose express purpose was to change the attitude of many Americans from one of trepidation towards home cooking and foreign foods to one of enjoyment and excitement over the variety of foods out there in the world. Her impact can be seen today, whether it’s the rise of monkfish populations, the popularity of food processors, or the enduring success of the Television Food Network.
Julia Child was born on August 15th, 1912, in Pasadena, California, to her wealthy parents John and Julia Carolyn McWilliams. Interestingly enough, she was not French in any way. While she did enjoy the New England food the maid cooked, she never had any special fondness or feelings for food. Thanks to the fact that her parents had quite some wealth, she attended Polytechnic School from fourth grade to ninth grade. There, she studied a wide assortment of things with a fairly robust honors program, as the school is a college prep school. Afterwards, she attended the Branson School in Ross, California. Her personality really showed through those years and some would describe her as a “typical California girl.” She attended Smith College and played basketball there, using her six foot two inch frame as an asset, and graduated in 1934 with a Bachelor of Arts in history. Julia Child later moved to New York City and got a job working for W. & J. Sloane, a firm focused on furnishing upscale homes, as a copywriter. Eventually she decided to return California in 1937. Unfortunately, tragedy struck, and her mother passed away. After that happened she wrote for local publications and other small advertisement jobs as she lived for four years at home. Always caring about the rest of the world, she volunteered with the American Red Cross and. She was also very patriotic, and after the bombing of Pearl Harbor in 1941, she tried to join the Navy. The Navy felt she was too tall, however, and so she instead joined the Office of Strategic Services (OSS).
At first, she actually worked under General William J. Donovan, the leader of the OSS, in Washington D.C. She assisted research in the Secret Intelligence division, where she learned a lot about organizing tons and tons of data, which would be useful for her much later on when she began her career as a chef. Then, for a year, she helped the OSS Emergency Sea Rescue Equipment Section as a file clerk and also assisted in developing a shark repellent to make weapons fired at German U-Boats not misfire at sharks. In 1944, she was sent to Kandy, Sri Lanka (then Ceylon), where she still filed data. However, while she was there, she came up with a new system of organizing the data that then became standard. Also, much more significantly to the topic at hand, she met Paul Cushing Child, a man ten years her senior and a high-ranking cartographer for the OSS. He had an intense love of food and was known for having quite a sophisticated palate, and Julia fell in love with him. Because of her love of Paul, she began to get more and more interested in expanding her palate and knowledge of food so that they could have discussions about it and continue seeing each other. Eventually, they were both re-stationed to Kunming, China, where Julia experienced an even wider variety of new flavors and her love affair with food grew bigger. Also, in China, she was awarded, as head of the Registry of the OSS Secretariat, the Emblem of Meritorious Civilian Service. Eventually the war ended and they moved to Washington D.C., and got married on September 1st, 1946.
Paul later joined the United States Foreign Service, and in 1948 he was assigned to Paris, France, to work as an exhibits officer with the United States Information Agency. Julia, of course, went along. This was her first time in France and really her first introduction to the French cuisine. Her first meal there was really what made her fall in love with the food, the culture, and the entire French mindset. She continually recalled it throughout her life; oysters and sole meuni???re at Rouen, with fine French wine. While she had tried cooking for Paul throughout the previous years, she never really had much success to all. It really wouldn’t be too unfair to say she was quite a bad chef and she was very discouraged by this fact. However, when she had the meal in Rouen, she had an epiphany and realized just how much she wanted to learn how to really cook. So, she attended Le Cordon Bleu, the famous cooking academy in France. At first, as the only woman there in a class, her peers looked down on her, but she quickly rose to the top. She gained skill at such an alarming rate that she decided to drop out, and instead hire the top chef of the institute as a private instructor so she could be taught at a rate more appropriate for her voracious appetite for culinary knowledge. To continue expanding her experience, she joined Cercle des Gourmettes, a cooking club for the women of France. She met her cohorts Simone Beck and Louisette Bertholle there, two native Parisian women who were working on a cookbook to introduce French cooking to Americans. Thinking Julia might be able to add more American appeal to the book, they asked her to help, and since she loved French food so much and wanted to show Americans how approachable it could be, she eagerly joined. Using her skills gained working with the OSS, Julia really took over the project. The three women also, in 1951, began teaching American women how to cook French food out of Julia Child’s home. They called this informal school L’Ecole des Trois Gourmandes, which means the school of the three gourmands. This couldn’t last forever, however, as Paul and Julia began moving about Europe for the next decade before returning to the United States and settling in Cambridge, Massachusetts. During that time period, Julia kept contact with Simone and Louisette, and the three continued researching and testing and developing recipes to perfection over the years. Eventually they came up with a 734 page behemoth of a book that would forever change the way Americans viewed home cooking.
In the 1950’s, in America, there was one dish that reigned supreme over all others for home cooking: the casserole. As families became busier and more involved with many various activities, time for home food preparation started to dwindle. While casseroles had been gaining popularity steadily since around 1911, the 1950’s was really when they came into the limelight as a popular dish. Unlike other cooking methods which required constant attention and stirring and effort, casseroles were easy to just toss in the oven and have a delicious meal come out. Canned soup was staggeringly popular, as were frozen vegetables and all sorts of other prepackaged goods, which are all essential ingredients in a casserole. Campbell introduced their Cream of Mushroom soup in 1934, and that quickly became an ingredient ubiquitous with casseroles. Tuna casserole, King Ranch Chicken, and many others appeared as popular dishes. The 1950’s are also when the popular Thanksgiving dish, green bean casserole, was invented.
The 1950’s can’t just be quite summed up by casseroles, though. While they definitely were among the most popular dishes, quite a few other trends developed then. Barbeques were becoming a popular suburban trend. Americans found few better ways to relax and entertain their friends than a good, old fashioned barbeque. Basically, any meat on hand, especially red meat, was grilled, and people enjoyed it. Another popular trend that started appearing around the 1950’s is that of more foreign influences in cuisine. Returning soldiers from tours in the Pacific and Europe brought back an expanded palate. Gradually, Americans were rising from a previous culinary xenophobia and began to experiment with new dishes and spices and flavors. Americanized versions of lasagna, chow mein, enchiladas, and more, began appearing in cookbooks at the time.
The stage was set right for Julia Child’s cooking to really give Americans the inspiration they needed to try out increasingly broader, newer, and more exotic cuisine. By the 1960’s, Americans in general had grown bored of casseroles – still popular, but now seen as old hat – and were looking for new, exciting things to eat. Additionally, Americans became much more interested in French culture than they had been before in the early 1960’s. The time was ripe for the release of Julia, Simone, and Louisette’s book, Mastering the Art of French Cooking (Vol. 1), which was a culmination of a decade’s worth of work. Their extensive testing and research, aided by Julia’s organizational skills gained from her work in the OSS, helped create one of the most important cookbooks of all time. The book was originally sent to Houghton Mifflin to publish, and things were going well and a contact was signed, but the company pulled out because they decided it was too encyclopedia-like. So, they took their book to Alfred A. Knopf, who published the work in 1961. It received rave reviews that often cited its almost scientific attention to detail, helpful illustrations, and overall approach to cooking. Suddenly, Americans had an extremely well-done guide to help them experiment and learn how to cook French food.
That wasn’t all Julia Child did, though. While she did write a regular column for The Boston Globe following the success of her book, her real big break came in 1962, when a book review program on PBS’ WGBH Boston asked her to come on the air. Thinking it would make the program more exciting if she cooked, Julia brought an omelet pan and cooked an omelette on air for the host. The segment was so popular that it was decided that Julia should star in her own cooking show. She very graciously agreed, as it would be another medium through which to spread her message that cooking could be fun and approachable by anyone. Her show, “The French Chef,” first aired on February 11th, 1963. It was the first in a long line of various series that Julia would star in.
