Please don’t shout at me if it is said somewhere – i didn’t find it.

I have two Soundtracks here not present on the Galbadia site:

Battle Arena Toshinden 1 PC
Powerslide PC

How can I add them over there? Is 192 kbit/s enough for a rip?

Thanks for any help.

Should I rip to FLAC instead?
Should I just post a soundtrack to Download Links
and the Galbadia staff will grab it themselves?

You can’t add them directly.
Upload them with megaupload or sendspace, rapidshare, (etc …), then you post them in "download links", and if Sarah wants them for her site, she’ll add your OST’s in a future update.

Okay. Thanks, ghoulies!

You’re always welcome to rip in FLAC if you so please. CyberSpark loves the FLAC. 😎 Usually if I like the music that was uploaded in FLAC I’ll just download them and decode them and re-encode them into high quality MP3s, then I’ll just upload them again in that same thread, that way if no one wants to download such large files they can just get the high quality MP3s.

BTW, could you consider using MediaFire (http://www.mediafire.com/) to upload these CDs? MegaUpload is such a pain in the…well, you know. 🙂

Hello CyberSpark! I had good experience with RapidShare
in the past. I stayed away from MegaUpload because it
looked to complex for my taste. Maybe I try MediaFire next
time. Any strong reason why I should prefer it to RapidShare?

PS: Look at my signature for my two FLAC releases of today.

Hi ryu14.

I’ve never used RapidShare so I can’t properly compare it to MediaFire, I can tell you why I like MediaFire though. For one thing it’s easy to use, there are no programs that you have to install to use it, (for me) its upload speed is really decent, but then again I haven’t had too much experience with uploading anything, and best of all THERE ARE NO DOWNLOAD LIMITS! like stupid MegaUpload. Oh, it also has decent download speeds too.

PS: Look at my signature for my two FLAC releases of today.

?

What signature, I don’t see one. Am I missing something? Well when I find them I’ll be sure to check them out. Thanks for the FLAC releases. I like being able to find video game music that isn’t from a torrent (which I hate!). Thanks again.

I gave MediaFire a try when uploading my third release (Powerslide) and the reason I switched back to RapidShare is that the upload was not fast enough. Other than that it looks good. Did I just hit a slow time?

No idea why it didn’t show up. In case it’s missing again here are all threads I started:

rips are only added to ffshrine assuming 1) it’s a link on megaupload 2) it’s an mp3 rip

Any particular reason only links from MegaUpload are used? Just curious.

Hello Sarah!

Good to know. What exact MP3 would you want to get?
Would it be too much work on your side to convert from FLAC to MP3 on you end? I mean you have to download it yourself anyway and that way FLAC people can still enjoy full quality while I don’t have to upload everything twice. Not trying to push you, just an idea.

Why does it have to be MegaUpload? What’s the important difference to RapidShare in your eyes? My upload to MegaUpload is so slow, about a third of that to RapidShare. That means uploading takes three times as long – I really like to avoid this.

Which of my releases would you be interested in for an MP3 version?

I’m one of those "FLAC" people that hate MegaUpload, go figure. It’s easy enough to use the FLAC frontend to decode the FLAC files back into their original PCM format and then, using Exact Audio Copy (http://www.exactaudiocopy.de/en/index.php/resources/download/), encode them back into any format you want (MP3, AAC, LAME, ect).

I’ll be adding more detail on how to convert to these formats in my "How to" (signature) once I have the time. 🙂

yeah, I realize I can convert on my end but this is already a colossol investment of my time. for simplicity’s sake it’s just mp3’s only. you can always upload multiple versions [one flac, one mp3].

I see your point. I could add MP3 versions to my recent uploads for you. Is 192 kbit/s enough? I should be sure so I don’t do the wrong thing five times.

192kb is fine, but vbr would probably be best [as far as most members here are concerned]
