To be honest, the moonstone isn’t too much of a game-changing item anyway, you can still get them later on. The 10k gil received from the nobles is a lot more useful, especially if you plan on using the ‘cotton robe trick’ to earn money.

The first time I played the game, I was still a nub and didn’t both to use Dyne and ending up killing them the hard way.
