Murrrrr lol

Tis a sketch of my lightside persona Joan in a Valkyr dress-armour outfit.

Face shot of my character Jessica Carmilla. Experimenting with styles too.

Haha thanks. Master, jessica is not my persona though, she’s just a character I have created for my story project TERRA.

I also would like to have replies of a more critical nature in the future. not only do i like to share my art, but I want to improve on it as well, so critiques will be most helpful. :-*

well I am not artist, I can’t really give a good critical response, or I would of above, I don’t post alot in here anyway.

Joan, for the most part, they’re rather decent drawings. The shading and overall detail are terrific (esp. true for your first piece), making each sketch anything but dull. Also, the facial expressions speak volumes, as in you’ve conveyed the feelings of both characters well.

My only critique would be the general definition of your drawings (referring to both outline & cleanness). Lack of those two important aspects could cause your sketches to appear busier than you may’ve intended. Then again, with them being sketches, it’s to be expected, so super-freakin’-duper effort anyway, /b/. 😉

This stuff is priceless you’re quite good Joan the only thing I can skepticize are the stray lines, but that’s nothing a good erasing wont fix up. Truly top notch stuff, cant wait to see more.

Also these pics make me waana read/Watch REdwall again. That was some good stuff there Brian Jacques, I believe it was, ftw.

Sorry my scanner sucks so much ass. Took me forever to get this scan this decent.

Tips. This is just what i would do. If your good enough to develop your own characters, your good enough to critique yourself.

Heres something you might be interested in. this (http://thepiratebay.org/details.php?id=3426582) They are good books, and they help a lot when your developing your first characters.

Yay new stuffs!

Recently, I had challenged my friend, who is getting into 3-D modelling to render my character Jessica in 3-D. he accepted the challenge but demanded that i draw her in designated poses as a reference. So here’s the front view sketch.

Same premise as above, but a profile view sketch. I still need to draw the heads at different angles.

Hey, those are really nice. I envy people who can draw well.

Rabspat approved! Not like that actually counts for anything, though.

Edit: Woah!! I just realized that I’m not even posting on the right message. God, my lurker status is ruined!

Joan, you’ve realy perfected your torso’s and arms but I think your lower body and facial features need to be concentrated on a lot more, especialy in the case of animal-esch faces. The mugs definately have personality and emotion but think Disney when you do the eyes and mouths. With female characters this is especialy true. They’ve got to be clean, elegant lines. The softer the strokes the better.

One of the hardest things for artists to render are the hands and feet. Believe it or not art studios look hard and long for people who can master them.

This isn’t one of my strong points. :notgood:
I can copy a pic of animal caricatures, but I just can draw any of my own.
I guess I need more life drawing practice.

Hehe, it’s been forever.

I made a sketchblog section on my personal blog. You can view it here (http://valerie-valens.blogspot.com/search/label/sketchblog).

Also, after being b& on DeviantArt because they are pussies and having FAP shut down due to the owner being a major faggot, I am now at Artspots (http://valerie-valens.artspots.com).
