speaking of which, catchin’ questions
do all status ailments work equally well for helping to catch them?
does remaining hp affect the catching rate in a linear fashion? is a pokemon with 5% of its hp twice as likely to be caught as one with 10%?
do dusk balls work better at night when you’re in a cave? I know being in a cave helps, but does cave + night help even more? how do the catch rates of dusk balls under the right conditions compare to ultra balls?
As for the HP catching rate, you’re pretty much on the money.
Regarding the Dusk Ball, I find the Dusk Ball to be more useful than the Ultra Ball under the right conditions such as the one you mentioned above.
I’m not exactly a Pokemon expert, but that’s my take on the topic. =)
There’s probably a better place to do something like that, though, but it’s the only one I’ve noticed so far!

Yeah, I know in the ADV games there were these crazy wealthy people you could find over and over with the amulet coin. There may well be something like this in D/P but I don’t know about it. I guess hit up gamefaqs.
what mansion
where’s da amulet coin
what’s adv 🙁
what’s vs seeker
does anyone know my capturing questions ?_? mostly wondering the dusk ball part
The VS Seeker is some thing you’re given by rowan’s assistant at some point pretty early in the game. It’s in your key items section of the bag. It makes trianers near you challenge you again, but it doesn’t always work.
The amulet coin is in Amnity Square or whatever it’s called which is the north part of Hearthome city. You have to have a cute pokemon with you to go there though (like psyduck or pikachu and a bunch of others).
ADV is the short term for advanced, referring to the generation that is ruby, sapphire, emerald, fire red, and leaf green.
I’m pretty sure dusk balls are 4x if you’re in a cave, or at night, or both, but 4x is definitley the cap.
"adv" is 3rd generation pokemon games. ruby/sapphire/emerald. sorry, I use it without thinking now. it’s usually used in reference to competition from that gen rather than the actual games themselves
I believe he means the pokemon mansion where you can go out in the garden and catch Pokemon from past gens.
I forget where the amulet coin is, wait for someone who remembers or look it up on gamefaqs
vs seeker is an item you get that lets you rechallenge NPC trainers
I believe dusk ball does gain an extra advantage from both a cave and nighttime, but I could be wrong. I think Garamond believes so too and he tends to sniff out details like that much better than I do so I’d trust it.
I can attach one of my cloned Amulet Coins to a Pokemon if you need it

I bet you would clone copies of Diamond and Pearl if you could. Heck, I bet you can.
I wouldn’t dare risk it just for something I could duplicate in Emerald.
At one point before i went to the Elite Four I had a little over 400,000.
Now I’m at like 200,000
Because I’ve bought like 100+ Ultra Balls for Azelf and Uxie.
Are you using the "masterball" trick with L + R + A? If you time it correctly, pressing them simultaneously exactly when the ball pops open to capture, your chances of capture on the first couple of tries increases dramatically. It still works in these DS versions.
If not, my psychic powers are modding the game. >_>
