In Need Of Help

Im not sure if ive posted this in the right place… but i just have a little problem with FFXII.. this may sound silly to many of you but it is rather annoying to me.. i was in the Nabreus Deadlands and was chaining a load of baknamys.. i picked up one of the chain drops (dont know if thats the correct term) and it gave me reflect on Vaan & Basch..now the reflect is still on and ive been trying to get it off for a long time by trying to dispel it, running around to wear the effect off but nothings working 🙁 any ideas?

Hmm, I don’t know. Are you sure it was the loot that did it? I know it can put protect and shell on you but not reflect, and it usually wears off. I guess you just kill them off and revive them, if that doesn’t work I don’t know what will.

Yeah it was definatly a loot drop that did it because personally i dont like reflect so i never use it, ive tried killing them and then using Arise but it still doesnt work, i desperatly want to get it off before i continue with the story 🙁

Dumb question, but I’ll ask anyway, are Vaan and Basch wearing Mirror Mail?

That isn’t a glitch, that’s from equipping the Goddess’ Magicite (the Dusk Shard). You get silenced "permanently" by Manufactured Nethicite.

Wow, I’ve never heard of this. That definitely sounds like a bad glitch to me. You’ve removed all of their equipment and you’re absolutely certain that nothing you have equipped is causing it?

No I had a glitch in my game that made my MP go to 0 and that particular character never had the Dusk Shard equipped to them, ever. This happened on my first run-through…….But if I remember correctly, I just continued on with the game and the glitch eventually disappeared.

P.S: My FFXII disc is a used-disc. So there was probably a weird scratch on it.

This may not be the case, but do you have a Ruby Ring equipped to them? (Pretty sure that’s auto-reflect.) If not, it must just be something wrong with your disk.

You must forgive kneg, there has been an huge amount of incredibly stupid people who don’t realise that equipping those items give you those bad side effects.

And Khaotik, if you’re sure you haven’t got mirror mail or ruby ring equipped then sorry I don’t know what the problem is. I’ve never heard of this glitch before and I don’t know anything else that could put reflect seemingly permanently on your chars. Just play through the game and hope it eventually disappears.

In the meantime, do those Opal Rings still work?

Vaan & Basch have nothing equipped that puts auto-reflect on, so this makes me think it must be a glitch, when i go on the party menu and go on status on vaan and basch it says the effect is temp so it must wear off sometime, thank you everyone for your help anyway

You could of used a reflecgta mote which casts reflect on people in your party who are nearby.

No i didnt use a reflectga mote, but its gone now it must of been just a long lasting effect :/

I remember panicking when my characters got status afflicted and I used items on them, only to find they didn’t work.

Turns out I had the Nicholopoa on.

Some items are retarded.. But if you have a reflect glitch… fight some magic-using foes. ^^
