well i was looking in the story theroey ‘holy and meteor’
and it says that ‘Thus, Aeris� death is not only pointless but unrealistic. I feel that she shouldn�t have had to die’ but near the end fmv the girl says something about ‘the flower girl’ and when the lifestream protects the planet she says something like ‘shes here'(not exact words).Also she appears after the lifestream destroys meteor.in wikipedia it says that in the book ‘Maiden who Travels the Planet’ ‘it is confirmed that it was she who called the Lifestream into action’ so if she didnt die then holy wouldnt have doen anything and neither would the lifestream as she wuldnt controll it.

So it is actually nesseceary for aeirth to die.

I am not referring about the deaths of FF characters. Deaths are usual thing. But if you notice something: when your character’s HP turned 0, a status named DEATH will appear. And really, even if you let the character dead all way the story, you always still able to resurrect them, anytime. Try it if you don’t believe it.

I think that status is only in certain games. In one of the FFs (can’t remember), its KO, not Death.

Yeah, that’s true. There’s no denying it’s called "Death" in FFVII — I looked it up in the manual, but in FFVIII’s manual, it’s "KO."

There’s no denying that FF VII’s translation is the most horrible one in the entire series.

It’s not even consistent between the PC and Playstation versions. I’ve noticed that among other differences with those, some of the summon names are different, and in the PC version, they censor some profanities (mainly Cid’s, of course) that are left untouched in the Playstation version.

Discussing it in large, be it speculation or what her death really meant to the other characters and the outcome of the story is legitimate. Neither Sephiroth nor JENOVA were Ancients (Cetra)–that was a mistake made by Professor Hojo and Gast in their reports.

Later, in the Icicle Inn, you can find Professor Gast’s old videos of him talking with Ifalna (Aeris’s mother), and Ifalna clears up the fact that JENOVA actually wasn’t an Ancient (or "Cetra", as they call themselves), but was an alien that came in and threatened to wipe out the Cetra. The few surviving Cetra were able to imprison JENOVA.

When JENOVA was discovered by Professor Gast, he most likely didn’t know anything about an alien, but might have discovered traces of the Cetra, so he may have mistakenly come to the conclusion that JENOVA was one of the Cetra.

Well i think thats just quite rediculous and stupid if they wanted to take any female character out it shoulda been Tifa but then again shes not even good enough to die. I don’t really agree that Tifa should have gone instead (I kind of liked her, too–I don’t want to have had any of them die), but if you don’t like Aeris, it doesn’t mean everyone doesn’t like Aeris!

Dude, she’s a computer game character…. Get a life, she doesn’t care who hates/loves her, everyone is entitled to their opinion, so let them be. In my opinion, I never saw a need for her as I never got her Limit Break past Seal Evil, so I rarely used her, but Tifa was used a lot by myself.

Ok Well i let you know that i sure as hell have a life and people that like game characters are called FANS and all i wnated to say is that im a fan to some extent of Aerith, and yes their may have never been a need for her but what i said was my opinion and should freakin respect that!! No for your information I am a girl cause it kinda sounded like you called me a guy and I really dont care about the way use the letter "i" ill capitalize and lowercase it as much as a freakin want. Aerith being an ANCIENT (which gave her the ability to communicate with the planet) made that possible. And Bugenhagen said it himself: "If a soul seeking Holy reaches the planet, it will appear." And we all know that it was Aerith who had the White Materia during the whole game.
