miniUSF/USF to .MP3?

I have a few hard to find game OST’s that have been ripped right from the ROMs themselves. There all in .miniUSF file types with one big .USF file for each game. I was wondering if any one knows of a program that will take the .miniUSF and .USF files and convert them into .MP3 files? I’d like to share them with every one ells but it would be simpler if they were all just in .MP3 format.

There are plugins from winamp that will play them. Subsequently, you can then use Winamp’s wavout option to copy them to another format.

Try using this plugin.

The way I do it is I used the link that Auumar posted to encode the files as WAVs in WinAmp (in preferences, make the output as recording a wav file), then, I run all of the wav files through MusicMatch Jukebox and convert them (file, convert) as .mp3 files at 160 or 192 kbps. You may need to increase the volume of some of them when they are wav files, though; I know the Pokemon Stadium USFs are particularly quiet, as are the Rayman 2 ones. Without messing with anything for the individual files, it can take up to an hour to convert all of the files depending on how many there are. Donkey Kong 64 took me a little over an hour, but it was worth it. Six discs of music is better than the one that Nintendo Power sent me.

I can’t figure out how to record wav files with winamp.

Go to "Options" and then "Preferences" in Winamp. On the left of the window go under "Plug-ins" and click on "Output". Select "Nullsoft Disk Writer" and click on "Configure" at the bottom. From there you can select what format you want Winamp to convert the files into. Just make sure you tick the "Convert to Format" box.

After that all you have to do is throw the files you want converted into the play list and click play. Winamp will go threw the files and spit them out where ever you selected the converted songs to go to.

Simply put, just use winamp, select disk writer out but you won’t hear anything.
It’s your best bet.

Cool, I’m going to use the miniUSF files, Winamp, and that plugin to redo the Blast Corps soundtrack, without all the lame annoying voices and sound effects, like someone just recorded the soundtrack from their TV.

I’ll give you guys a heads up on how that turns out.

Simple.

First convert the files to wav’s, then convert the wav’s to MP3’s. There are many ways to do it. Chose the one that works best for you.

This method also works with PSF, MiniPSF, GYM, NSF, or any videogame file format, They can all be converted to Wav’s. Beware though, MP3 is a Lossy formate.

There are a few ways you can do this and all are very simple.

1. Open Winamp (any version)
2. Set Note64th to play based on time (you’ll see why later)
3. Open Diskwriter under output in Winamp.
4. Set your settings and do to apply.
5. Click OK
6. Name your file.
7. After you have completed your wave log, use an audio editor like Goldwave to convert your .wav to .mp3.
8. That’s it. (you may need a mp3 plugin like lame MP3)

This is all well and good; but, what about Mac? I can’t even find a miniusf player anywhere, let alone a converter. Any suggestions? Thanks.
