Yeah, none of the pre Playstation 2 games have voiceover, it wasn’t until X that the voiceovers started. There’s some debate as to whether they actually improved the series or not. In any case, I certainly don’t think having to read the dialogue in any way diminishes from any of the earlier games, other merits or nonmerits of those games notwithstanding.
